i also think a lot of these people have legit brain disorders that makes it difficult for them to process emotion and feeling

Damn that note hits home. Before I got help, I wrote a very similar note in my mind many times and even once on paper. Something always stopped me, not sure what. Looks like she was done and I know the feeling. Clinical, never ending depression is real and it is horrible.

I take my pills and my wife and kids make life worth the trouble of living these days.

I feel for this girl's family and I know what they are going through, as I have lost family members to suicide. Sad Sad stuff.

I don't get it. She's going to miss all of that but yet she doesn't feel anything? WTF?

This shite scares the shite out of me because it seems like anyone could be fine one minute and then consider suicide the next.

What a beautiful girl and sad story. I feel terrible for her mother. For all the advancements we've made with physical ailments, we still lag behind in identification and treatment of mental ones. Granted she probably let no one know she was suicidal.

All around sad, sad story.

In all of the exotic and fabulous meals she describes she tosses in Popeyes? Are we that spoiled down here?

That note also made me seriously confused, especially the I’m here for you part at the end.

Do truly depressed suicidal tendency people really have that many likes and interests? Seems like she just needed a new start and that her favorite people were just merely people to her, not actual friends.

Sad story nonetheless so RIP young lady.

Very sad, and likely something that could have been prevented

Maybe in this case, but I dont think its always preventable short of locking someone up under 24-7 observation. Some friends lost two children to suicide, despite doing everything they could-and they had the financial resources to try everything. Both were severely bipolar, and one followed the other by about a year. The parents felt it was almost a foregone conclusion by the time it happened.

quote:

It's so strange that our brains can actually convince us that suicide is the only option and that it would make things better for all involved.

People say they're selfish (speaking only from their own "sane" perspective), but I think in their warped view, they're doing the best thing they can for them and everyone around them. Tragic.

Wow she was cute/beautiful. I don’t want to throw shade at her or diminish her suffering . I accept that as real and overwhelming to her .

But I will say respectfully, that what strikes me about that letter is the total lack of any recognition on her part that the point of life ( which is full of suffering) is to find MEANING. Real meaning and purpose. Because life is a painful grind and it will break your heart and your mind dozens of times in your life. And happiness, while ideal, is hard to sustain with so many tragedies and so much suffering around us. So we must seek Truth and Meaning.

All this surface- oriented talk of various super- awesome ethnic food ? That’s a level of spiritual and intellectual vacuousness that saddens me . No wonder she feels so empty. She may actually Be empty . And the weird throwaway line to her Mom and/or other human beings? It’s sad on every level.

RIP, sweet girl . You made a very big and a very selfish mistake. And you missed the entire point of your life. Enduring the pain is required.

She's listing things that bring other people joy. It obviously wasn't that important to her.

Too many people want to "help" the depressed with shitty advice and medication. I just wanna be myself, and if that ain't enough then frick it

It starts off reading like she can't find joy in life and then she lists off a ton of things that seem to bring her joy.

She is basically saying she loves these things, but despite loving things, she cannot feel true joy. That is the hopelessness she feels.

Overall, it sounds like she has an eating disorder or some body image issues

You completely made this up. There is no evidence of that.
