CENTRAL, La. (WAFB) - Central Police Department has arrested one woman and is looking for a second in connection with a robbery at a Circle K convenience store on Hooper Road in which a store clerk suffered severe arm injuries after being dragged by a fleeing vehicle.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on July 19, 2026, at the Circle K located at 9530 Hooper Road.

According to investigators, Destani Harrington — a passenger in a 2017 Jeep Cherokee — entered the store and spoke briefly with a store clerk before taking ten small bottles of Hennessy Cognac from within the clerk’s immediate control and fleeing without paying.

The clerk pursued Harrington outside. As the clerk reached the passenger side of the vehicle, investigators allege Harrington grabbed the clerk by her shirt, held her against the vehicle, and directed the driver to grab the victim’s arm. Harrington then allegedly instructed the driver to pull away while the clerk remained partially inside the vehicle.

The clerk was dragged approximately 30 feet before falling into the roadway. One of her arms was run over by the rear tire of the vehicle, causing injuries that required extensive surgery and several weeks of rehabilitation and recovery, according to police.

Following the investigation, police identified the driver as Brittany Nicole Wilson, 34. Wilson was arrested July 29, 2026, and booked on the following charges:

Principal to Second Degree Robbery
Second Degree Aggravated Battery
An arrest warrant has been issued for Harrington, 27, on charges of:

Second Degree Robbery
Principal to Second Degree Aggravated Battery

Chief’s statement
“This was not simply a theft of merchandise,” Chief Roger Corcoran said. “The evidence indicates the suspects were willing to seriously injure another human being to escape with property of minimal value. The victim suffered life-altering injuries while courageously attempting to recover her employer’s property. We are grateful for the diligent work of our investigators in identifying those responsible, and we will continue our efforts until the remaining suspect is taken into custody. We encourage anyone with information regarding Ms. Harrington’s whereabouts to contact law enforcement.”

Anyone with information on Harrington’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Central Police Department or submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers. The investigation remains active.

Hopefully the criminal justice system rehabilitates these two young ladies. I see potential in their eyes.

This is why employers and their insurers do not want employees to get physically involved with theft prevention.

That's nothing.

Democrat foot soldiers in NOLA will steal your car, then drag YOU almost a mile, literally ripping body parts off of you, then the mayor will go to court and ask the judge for a lenient sentence for the foot soldier that stole your car.

How's that for "progress"?

Probably less, but yeah, why risk your life over some hennessy? It's not even your hennessy. But even if it was, just let them have it. Let them take it and call the cops. Chasing criminals isn't in your job description.
