A guy wanted for committing credit card fraud would warrant this tactic?
The numbnuts that pulled this shite is a 4 year vet that has already had complaints about excessive force.

I fully understand your point on that.
We also don't know if the guy that was actually the wanted guy had a history of fighting the police though or committing violent acts.
We also don't know if they actually knew the history of the wanted suspect or if they just had a witness pointing out the wrong suspect.
This could have been handled a thousand times better either way. NYPD has plenty of uniformed officers that this guy could have called in while he kept track of him. It's not like he was trying to give him the slip.

True. He could've just started beating him. Either way, he fricked up, and lost his job. Good riddance.
This is what police departments deserve for having a maximum allowable IQ for police officers.
And that isn't a joke. It held up in a federal court.

Like I've stated previously all he did was place the suspect in a passive position until the suspect started resisting. I see nothing wrong with this video. It's just a PR campaign because a famous Black athlete was misidentified by a hard working white police officer.

I could see a more aggressive approach if he was looking at a violent type deal and he had an eyewitness saying, "that's the guy ", Even then, (I think) protocol would've been to call for backup.
But we pay police to use good judgement, that's why we endorse them carrying weapons.
This guy's actions will ultimately cost the city money, in the form of higher insurance rates.

If body slamming someone who isn't resisting for a nonviolent fraud crime without identifying yourself as an officer is OK with you, what would he have had to do in that video for you to find the officer at fault?
