If he lied then he should be gone. Once you lie you are done. I screwed up many times over my 25 year career. I am human. When I did I took my lumps and never lied about it.

I've read enough of your posts to know that you are one of the good guys. He's the kind of guy y'all need to keep out of the profession.

Thank you. Most guys are just like me. The first 5 years are very tough for officers. It is a lot to learn and it is a tough job unlike what most people think. This officer has been on the force for 4 years I think. NYPD has spent a lot of money training him and if he told the truth about this matter then he will be ok. If he lied then he should be done.

here did you see that? He didn't trust at all.

It appears to me that Blake attempts to resist arrest by shoving or possibly trying to disarm the police officer when they both almost go out of the frame.

So you get jumped from behind out of no where in a hotel lobby-- you just let someone beat you up, you don't even try to resist? If anything Blake was too passive its not like the cop ID'd himself it could have been a crazy stalker.

Officers sidearm was holstered, so IDK what you are talking about with trying to disarm him. I would imagine any resistance at that time was do to the fact that James thought he was being attacked. The office was not in uniform and I would argue that shouting police while shoving someone to the pavement is not properly identifying yourself as an officer. I understand NYPD has a hard job, but this sort of take down is due to one of 3 things:

1. Laziness. As in he was to lazy to go through the proper steps of identifying himself and questioning James before he arrested him.

2. Bad training. It is possible that particular department has terrible leadership and trains their officers poorly.

3. bad cop.

Judging by how quick the NYPD apologized and the fact that cop's already had his record blown up in the media I'm guessing #3.

They look so similar that I can understand why the witness thought it was the suspect.

This is a big to do about nothing.

Yea, a man waiting on his towncar should just expect to be tackled to the ground and cuffed by an unidentified person.

The witness identified Blake as the suspect and looking at the photos of Blake and the suspect, Blake looks very similar to the suspect except the suspect looks like he has slightly darker skin but the photo itself appears to be darker than the photo of Blake.

Since there was no audio, the undercover cop may have been telling Blake he was a cop as he grabbed Blake and wrestled him to the ground but Blake may not have heard it.

BTW, you are talking to a man who has been jumped on by the police twice while I was just walking down the street minding my own business.

One time I was grabbed and pushed up against a chain link fence from behind by a cop who thought I was a suspect who committed murder.

I didn't know it was a cop until after he grabbed me and pushed me up against the fence.

Fortunately for me, the suspect had a tattoo on his left shoulder and I don't so the cop released me and apologized for having mistaken me for the murder suspect.

The other time, I was walking down the street minding my own business when an unmarked police car literally was driven onto the sidewalk right in front of me and two undercover cops jumped out and grabbed me.

This time I saw them coming but I didn't know they were cops until after they grabbed me when they identified themselves as cops.

Fortunately, I did not resist them otherwise I probably would have been wrestled to the ground.

They told me I looked just like a suspect they were looking for who robbed a bank right around the corner the day before.

Then they pulled out a photo of the suspect and looked at it.

I asked then to show it to me and the suspect didn't look anything like me except he had the same color hair and was white and thin like me.

I told the two undercover cops that the suspect didn't look anything like me and jokingly said that I was much better looking. The cops looked at the photo again for about 15 seconds then said, "Well, your earlobes look similar."

Then they told me they were detaining me until their Sargent showed up to decide if I was the suspect in the photo.

I was detained for about a half an hour and during that time I walked with them up the block and into a grocery store so they could buy some cigarettes.

We just chatted until the Sargent came and he looked at the photo and me.

Then he turned to the two undercover cops and said, "Let this man go. He doesn't look anything like the suspect."

I said to the Sargent, "I agree because I am much better looking than the suspect."

The Sargent laughed and as we shook hands he apologized for the two cops detaining me.

So don't accuse me of not knowing how it feels to be grabbed and pushed by the police when you have done nothing wrong and are just standing around minding your own business.

Edit.

My 4 downvoters are just upset that everyone isn't a cophater.

Do they teach you how to fight? I don't mean bullshite joint manipulation but do they teach you basic skills like how to stop a low single or how to defend off your back? The guy in the video did all kinds of things wrong. If that tennis player knew anything at all he would have been on that cop like stink on shite and there wouldn't have been a damn thing the cop could have done about it.

And really, 125 isn't that high. I'm not sure if you can get into gifted programs with a 125

One chart on Google says 125 puts you in the 94th percentile.

Take that fwiw

True but the gifted program thing is true as well a lot of area's have a 130 threshold. Of course IQ is also a super inexact measurement which can differ not just over the course of a person's life (there can be a pretty huge swing from childhood to adulthood) but even over a month depending on mood, sleep, etc (much like other standardized tests)

Or you were just lucky enough not to have had cell phone cameras around to bust your arse roughing people up for no reason.

You're asian aren't you? Maybe you should consider facial reconstruction because you sure do get your identity mistaken a lot.

Since the video had no audio, how do you know the cop didn't identify himself as he was taking Blake down and Blake just didn't hear it?

Incidents like this make you realize just how easily you could get killed by a cop for concealed carrying.

Nope.

I'm half Irish and half what was formally called Czechoslovakian.

The half of me that is what was formally called Czechoslovakian gives me hard bones.

The half of me that is Irish gives me a hard head.

So you're cool with non uniformed unidentified officers taking down people in the street for nonviolent offenses with no prior history without identifying themselves?

First of all, he didn't take down the suspect until the suspect started resisting. Secondly, there is no evidence to suggest the officer did not identify himself other than Blake's assertion.

Other than you know...past complaints about that exact thing.

When that happened the officer took the suspect to the ground. He could have handled the suspect much more harshly IMO.

Correct, he could have clubbed him or shot him dead. So because he did not, this makes it okay?

they got the wrong fricking dude.

The claim is "excessive force." The video clearly disproves that.

As I said before this is a PR campaign due to the white guilt this country is struggling with. It was a black suspect who resisted being detained by a hard working white police officer. The NYPD didn't want riots and looting so they made an example of a good police officer.

So basically in your mind this is a good arrest, I mean wrong charge but obviously to you Blake was guilty of resisting arrest which is a crime.
