Yeah the cop fricked up by arresting the wrong guy, but that sure in the hell was not excessive force.

If I "roughed" up somebody and in this job it happens I guarantee you I had a good reason. Protection of myself or my guys.
I also understand that dishonest people find it hard to believe that people can do a job honestly. I feel bad for those people

The witness ID'd Blake as the suspect. The officer had reasonable suspicion to detain him.

Most departments do not teach this enough honestly. The academy touches on it, but a lot of police officers are terrible at hands on. If someone has any type of training then they can not only whip most people but most cops. Some officers are very good fighters, some are just tough.

He should be fired... I'd be a little more lenient if it wasn't for the officer having a reputation of using excessive force. Also, the fact that he didn't show any remorse after he realized his screw up.

Would still like more info. It just makes little sense. It's not like the guy was already running from them. How does an eyewitness I'd a credit fraud suspect in person?

he didn't resist at all.. not sure how you can remain that calm being tackled out of no where with no reason.
he said he was telling the guy he would cooperate 100% but he didn't know what was going on immediately.. while on the ground.

I can remember one time for sure, I knew the suspect very well. I had fought him in the past and how also had to chase him. I jumped him out on him and we tackled him pretty quickly. We were plain clothes, but we had jackets on with POLICE all over it. The suspect also knew me and as soon as I jumped out he knew what was up.
