New Jersey High School bans limos and luxury cars from prom because of income inequality

Students at a New Jersey high school are upset at a new school policy that will prohibit them from taking a limo, party bus or their own vehicle to the prom.
Lakeland Regional High School superintendent Hugh E. Beattie said the new rule is about safety and "equity" so that students who can't afford a snazzy ride don't feel left out.
Beattle said that following a "group decision made by the Administrative Team" at the Sussex County school, the only way to get to the prom at the Rockleigh Country Club in Bergen County is to take a chaperoned school bus at a cost of $15 a person. There will be two departure times from each location for the 45-minute trip on June 4.
The decision was made "based on the concern over the safety of all our students and in providing equity for all students so that they all could enjoy a shared 'prom experience' despite socio-economic status, and based on the success that other districts have demonstrated utilizing this practice," Beattie said.
"The district wants to ensure that all students have the equal opportunity to share in a positive, safe and memorable school prom experience."

This country is becoming soft as shite

I can’t wait for ordinary Americans to get tired of this stupid shite and put a stop to it.

That sums up socialism in a nutshell. Now we're all on a shitty, overpriced school bus together!

Another of many forms of reparations.

I still think prom is a waste of money
If you want it to be one last night with all your high school friends, fine
But its gotten out of hand. Limos, expensive tuxedos and dresses, rentals, all this money for what? So you can try to impress your prom date who you probably aren't going to get married to?
Of all the prom couples at my high school prom, I can only name one that is still together today, nearly 13 years later. Most broke up freshman year of college or the summer before.

It was the poor kids that got limos when I went to prom. The better off kids would drive their parent's mercs or beemers.
Also, prom was at the school gym. If they were so concerned with with economic disparity, why the frick is prom at a country club?

I would bet a substantial amount of money that the SJW bullshite is just a cover. They want to ban kids getting drunken handjobs in limos to and from prom. This is about controlling behavior.

When are schools going to ban students from having cars because some people can’t afford vehicles??

That's what I remember as well. I'm guessing nobody actually spoke to any students to see if they even cared about classmates getting limos.
I'm also not following the safety angle of paying $15 to ride a school bus instead.

Wait. So you can’t take your own car, can’t have your parents drop you off, and can’t even take a city bus.
Sounds to me like this has nothing to do with equality and everything to do with the school making more money off the kids.

The point of prom is to be with your friends. Not to be on a bus with the people from school that you don't like
Also, it allows me to go and leave when I please. I went to prom for about 30 minutes to take pics and leave

This is exactly the kind of shite my high school would have pulled. A couples ticket to prom was like $100 and they didn’t even have food.
Same school that decided during my senior year that you couldn’t even wear jackets in the school colors. Only allowable jacket was a pullover hoodie (wtf?) purchased from the school that said “CHS FOOTBALL” or some shite. $35. How you can make those rules at a public school is beyond me.

High Schools enrollment is roughly 960 kids. Senior and junior class comprises about half of that. So, roughly 480 kids will be going to prom. Let's assume about 20 kids bring dates from out of town. So, actually around 500 kids at prom.
500 kids at $15 a pop to ride a school bus is $7,500 in extra cash for the district.
Only roughly 10% of the schools population is on free lunch programs. So the inclusion bullshite is just that, bullshite.
They see an opportunity to make some extra cash off of the kids/parents WITH money and are doing so by using a bullshite excuse.

There’s a lot of tough blue collar people that work and live in jersey. How is it being cucked over left and right by these libtard policies everyday? Guess they want to be like New York that bad
