No. We said our team got better when he was injured and out for the entire second half of season.
We didn’t talk ill of the kid, but gave fair warning to Gator fans on this board to not get overly excited about him.
Take a drink every time Boozer gets away with a travel, hooking, elbows, or 3 seconds in the lane.

waaaaaaay too early.
Not really when we look at the broad picture of going into SEC play and seeding for the NCAAt.
Arkansas does not need to be sitting with potentially 5 losses heading into SEC play. Arkansas still has #6 Louisville, #19 Texas Tech, and #8 Houston to go OOC. The Hogs cant afford to keep losing these marquee games and be 8-5 going into league play. Have to close these games late in the second half.
quote:
And the SEC is now good enough to get you in the NCAA tournament easily with a good conference record.
Well of course...but an 8-5 OOC mark and just a 9-9 SEC Record would put Arkansas at 17-14 at the end of the season. Of course, I expect the Hogs league record to be better than that...but you get my point.
Arkansas is in must win mode. Have to get one of these big OOC games and close them out. Led both Dook and Michigan State late in the second half and ultimately did not close either one out.

Add Memphis and North Louisiana.
Of course…I’m just hammering the all time excuse with our program…”It’s not near enough talent” which is bullshite…go an hour and 45 minutes west and get a handful of great blue chippers…then hammer your home state…then of course, hit southern Missouri, Memphis, and the Ruston/West Monroe/Shreveport corridor every damn year.
Sprinkle in a few Texas guys…but back in the day, our best OL’s were anchored by Arkansas kids…
Mitch Petrus, Grant Cook, Shawn Andrews, Brandon Burlsworth, Nate Garner, Jonathan Luigs, Stephen Parker, Bo Lacy, Mitch Smithers, Brey Cook, and Grant Freeman. All Arkansas kids. Nutt was probably the best we had at getting under recruited Arkansas OL and having them ready to roll by their junior years.

One of the greatest lies perpetuated about Arkansas football is that there isn't enough instate talent to be competitive.
I said it in a thread yesterday…but you can recruit the top guys in state, hammer East Oklahoma (Tulsa metro) and that can normally always be a solid foundation to a recruiting class.

Where did all the money go?
Offense and Petrino.
We didn’t pay for any depth on the DL and didn’t go pay for any type of edge rusher.
Today on 247 we are 82nd in the nation and 16th in the SEC. So there is definitely some work to do just to get to top 20.
Gosh, that is terrible.

The biggest problem has been the AD in terms of the football program. While you could say there has been plenty of money available for players, the AD's lack of committing to more administrative support has been an issue.
There was really nobody around to guide Pittman and his staff on how to spend the NIL money and spread it properly. This season, Petrino and Williams (DC that was fired) had a big falling out during the summer and it was because Petrino got the lions share of the NIL money for his side of the ball. Williams and the defensive side basically got what was left over, as was evident with one of, if not the worst defenses in school history.
Hopefully with Silverfield bringing his GM with him, this will alleviate those issues with him running the program.
No he doesnt. Dont be that dumb

spend the money they need to on football and this is why they have this coach.
According to 247, Arkansas was 17th in the nation in football NIL spend. Not great, but not terrible. Issue with Pittman was he did not spend on both sides of ball. It was pretty evident this season. It was like..."whoops, I forgot about the defense."
quote:
New coach had a big money ad with FedEx money rolling in compared to the other schools in his conference. Coach still can't really distance himself from his competition there.
From what I have read, Tulane, South Florida, and Memphis were the top three NIL programs in the American. On talent ratings the last few years, South Florida was at the top of the American.
quote:
Arkansas puts their money into basketball and baseball, not football.
We do put our money in those other sports, but we have invested in the football program. Supposedly this will be kicked up a notch with Silverfield. Again as I said above, Arkansas was a top 17 spender nationally.
quote:
Arkansas would be more comfortable playing football in Big 12 where they could win at least half if not more of their games.
This is just a lazy thing to say from any reporter.

It’s just mind boggling what’s been done with in state talent. As much as we all despised Nutt, he would build his OL around big Arkansas kids and pick up what skill players were available.
If you take 10 or so top Arkansas players and recruit the Tulsa metro, you can have a very solid class. I’ve never understood it the past 10+ years.

That’s a decently tough schedule. What would the record need to be in order to give any type of hope for 2027?
5-7? 6-6?
