Always order a spare anyway. There's a cutout for it.
It'll take 3 days to get a replacement tire in some of these shite arse towns.
Which is where she'll get a flat..

A lot of newer cars don't come with a spare. You get a kit with plugs, shitty little air pump that plugs into the cigarette lighter, and usually a can of Slime. It's retarded.

As an aside, tires are far less likely to go flat now, and you have a TPS system to warn you about slow leaks too.
One of the last times I remember assisting someone with a flat tire we found out the spare had rotted away. I imagine this would be common to experience with the majority of drivers.

I always get a spare for my wives and daughters, even with run flats.
My cars don't have either.

Wife’s Acura didn’t come with one either. Know how we found out? When we got a flat one night.

The hybrids don’t come with one so they have room for the battery. Or so I was told on the accord I was looking at

Years ago BMW included a full sized spare mounted on the same wheel type. They gave you 5 wheels and tires so no matter what you were in good shape and not on a donut or cheap steel rim.
My 95 E36 M3 had a full-sized tire on the same wheel. Fast forward 10 years, and my '05 E46 M3 only had a can of Fix a Flat and an air compressor. It was done for weight savings but more importantly the E46 had staggered tire sizes. This is why many sports cars made the shift not CAFE. Lots of sports cars have significantly different tire sizes front and rear and some don't even have the same wheel diameter much less width.
Mundane driving appliances do it for CAFE and cost.

It's been over twenty years since I have had a flat tire.

True. Funny thing, though, if any car needed a real spare it was the M3 on Michelin Pilots. They seemed like good tires, but it didn’t take much to destroy them. Louisiana roads weren’t kind to them at all.

The only good thing is the car came with lifetime roadside assistance for tire issues.

Also, you wouldn't believe how many people nowadays don't even know how to change a tire anyway and would have to call roadside assistance.
This times 1000.

I’ll probably never buy a new vehicle ever again but any car I buy automatically gets a full size spare with new rubber. Preferably a matching wheel/tire if it’s not included already.
