current limit to transfer to Roth is 35k. you need 35k in come to do it…probably a 5 or six year transfer plan

when you have 35k in an account and the child is working, start transferring into a Roth IRA based on income limits.

Should grow to 1 million by their retirement age. 20% of what they will need to retire.

i am doing that for my grandkids

Leaving my condo in Jupiter after a months stay. July, August, and September are a little tough, but I am not here then.

Unfortunately I am not here in February-April when snowbirds pay about 70 percent of my upkeep

We are contributing monthly to both of our grandkids 529. They should each have 35k to start transferring to a Roth. They are 5 and 7. By the age of 18 they should be working somewhat.

If they don’t touch the money, they will have 1 million or so by the age of 62-65 assuming an 8% return.

That should be enough to fund about 20% of their needed 5 million

Of course, I will be long gone and they will probably blow it on something stupid
