Thanks, everyone! This helps clear up some of my thoughts....

Two C&S Gumbo Questions

Posted by McVick on 7/22/24 at 3:22 pm
Situation- I'm planning to make somewhere in the neighborhood of 4-5 gallons of C&S Gumbo. I have a 7 gallon jambalaya pot and burner. I don't have access to jarred roux. #1 is there anything I should be aware of if I make the roux a AM day or two ahead of the cook? All I see is cook it, store it...

At Oak Hill 2023 actual breakfast offerings were a bit slow to sometimes come out. But, it was easy to walk in, grab what you wanted, show your wristband, and walk out. I think the limits were 2 drinks (water, coffee, Gatorade, soda, etc.), 2 mains, and 2 sides (fruit, chips, cookie, etc.) per perso...
I think, very low down on the list, is that Keegan may have more experience than most with Bethpage. An article I read mentioned that he played there quite often in college, as the GC allowed the St John's golf team to play on Mondays when it was closed. Keegan may have an idea of who is best suited...
There’s one reason
Counter: It's a tied game in the bottom of the 9th with one out and a pinch runner on 1st. Lefty pitcher is throwing down away to a lefty batter with a backup catcher behind the plate. Gotta try something. Going 1st to 3rd still requires two hits to win the g...
Coach could be thinking about going 1st to 3rd on a single or scoring from 2nd, provided he made it that far. Bingham was the pinch runner. He had two steals all year and a lefty was in the mound. Not good odds.
I guess this helps answer part of my question. Bingham being 2 for 5 o...

Sorry, thanks for the correction. This happened in the bottom of the 9th instead of the 8th....

Trav was pulled for a pinch runner. Which made the situation even more baffling to me. If a player is pulled for a pinch runner at 1st with the score tied, I'm thinking stealing 2nd is the primary goal....

Why Not Steal Second?

Posted by McVick on 6/4/24 at 5:32 am
I'll preface this post by admitting I barely watched any regular season games. In the 8th inning after Travinski reached base, there seemed to be no attempt to steal 2nd. The game was tied and there was one out. It was lefty pitcher vs lefty batter, and if I recall the pitcher was pitching low a...

I ran the MCM in 2019. It was a great course. It rained/poured during the first 2/3rds of the race, and then became really muggy during the final 1/3rd. The Blue Mile was unlike anything I've experienced at a race before or since. ...
I've rarely, if ever, heard of a catcher becoming a basket case and just unable to play the position after being elite. I've seen goalies become basket cases, get into their own heads, and unable to effectively play the position. When that happens to a goalie, it's really hard to come back and be a ...

re: Wegmans grocery store

What I'm about to say may rustle some jimmies on this board, but Wegmans carries a very good pack of andouille sausage. There's no Louisiana-made andouille at the markets where I live and their pack, usually in the deli section or near the fancy cheese section, is by far the best of all the options....
