Ford is creating an entire Bronco line as it's own sub-brand.

The "bronco" competes with the wrangler.
The bronco sport competes with the Jeep Renegade (I think, I don't think it's meant to compete with the Cherokee)
Rumors of a bronco truck to compete with Jeep Gladiator, etc.

I like the 3 piece hard top for the Bronco- I'd like to see Jeep move to this, too. The back of the top is not terrible to remove, but not real easy, either.

Jeep Wrangler hard tops have 3 pieces…2 freedom panels and the larger rear piece. A buddy of mine reserved a Bronco but was told he probably won’t get his until sometime in 2022.

technically true, but the "larger rear piece" is not really a "piece". you cant just pop it off at the gas station

what would be cool though (and i think what the poster you are replying to meant) is that if the "top" of the rear "piece" was removable

I'm not a Jeep fan boy, though. I'm just commenting on the look of a Bronco.

Yeah I guess I should have been more specific. Front seat, rear seat, trunk/cargo area.

True. I agree. It’s a bitch to remove the large rear section and you have to have a place to store it. When I purchased my Wranger, it came with the dual top option. I ended up eventually replacing the hard top with the soft one. While there is definitely more road noise, I get a helluva lot more enjoyment out of the vehicle now.

Your commenting on a entirely different vehicle, the Bronco SPORT…a tarted-up crossover.
What does this have to do with the real Bronco that just came out?!

How long have you had it? Seems like the plastic windows get scratched/cloudy so fast, you can hardly see out of the back- that and noise was the main reason I got a hard top.

Apparently the hard top bronco rear piece is kind of a bitch to remove as well.

According to Doug Demuro, if you really want to be able to remove and reinstall the top frequently, you really need to go with the soft top version. The hard top doesn't really work if you are frequently taking it off and putting it back on. Also said that removal of any of the roof panels is kind of a bitch if you get the optional roof rails.

Doug Demuro said that in the context of roof-rails. He basically said if an Bronco owner wants to remove the rear panel of the hard top with any frequency, they should skip the roof rails.

I have a 2018 4-door Rubicon Recon. I’ve been running with the soft top full-time for a little over a year. My windows are still in pretty good shape, mainly because I take them off when I go off-road, and I’m not doing any boulder crawling or anything too extreme. I honestly think the worst damage to the plastic windows came from when my wife forgot and took it through one of those commercial car washes with the giant brushes.

I reserved mine over a year ago, put down a deposit, and haven't heard shite but "stay pumped!" emails from Ford every couple months.

They have completely botched this rollout. Some are getting their Broncos but most will be pushed into 2022. There's a lot of salt on the Bronco forums right now about this.
