Just think how boring it will be when SpaceX misses yet another milestone.
How did he make it about himself? “His friends” are the astronauts. Getting to see them means they are alive. It’s just another way to say that the astronauts made it home safe.
They moved the goalposts for starship for the lunar landing to Artemis IV to buy them some time. It was also smart to test the thing in LEO first tho.

Will it be ready for a test on Artemis III in 2027? They really need to pick up the pace.

The good news is, theoretically they just need to get to a stable orbit for Artemis III, they don’t need to be able to refuel yet.

They'll be all the way through the belts a few minutes into the TLI burn which happens tomorrow around 5:30 pm central. But like others have said, they've been in and out of them today. Couple of little radiation induced glitches that fault management software handles and resets.
You should review my cost per mission comparison. A starship moon mission will be over $2B when it’s all said and done. It takes them over 10 launches to get to the moon (possibly over 20). The $100M cost per launch metric is a paper metric that is irrelevant.

You are comparing a full cost accounting cost of an operational vehicle to a projected cost of a developmental vehicle that hasn’t yet completed a successful mission of its latest block upgrade, and is still a block upgrade away from getting to the moon.
It’s going to be a great day tomorrow. Should have better video for folks this time.
It’s not about “getting to the moon” it’s about “delivering payload to the moon”.

You have to deliver a crew, plus life support systems, plus food, plus fuel to get back.

Falcon Heavy’s payload capability to the moon is low. It certainly can’t push Orion to the moon.

There is one operational machine that can complete this mission and that’s SLS plus Orion. As soon as a better machine is available I’m sure the others will be phased out.

Cost per Launch Artemis II $2–4+ billion (very high due to expendable nature & program structure) Starship: Current estimates $100M+; long-term goal <$10M

You are comparing empirical numbers to projections. That never pans out. Plus you are comparing apples and potatoes.

Cost per launch isn’t a valid metric. Cost per mission is the metric.

A moon mission currently takes 1 SLS launch plus some number of Starship Launches. SpaceX originally estimated 7 starship launches to get to the moon. I think their official number is now 10-12. Some estimates have it at 20+ launches (that is not a joke).

Let’s split the difference…

Moon mission cost:
1x SLS+Orion at $2B
Plus
15x Staships at 100million each or $1.5B

Total cost = $3.5B

SpaceX is great, but let’s not pretend that the ship that was promised to us 2 years ago that has blown up time and time again and has yet to reach orbit is our savior just yet. Remember this, Starship hasn’t gotten to the hard part of their mission yet.
The part that is leaking isn’t flight hardware, it’s on the mobile launcher. It is a concern for combustion during liftoff, that’s why it’s monitored and controlled, but the vehicle is in great shape.
Hydrogen is the highest performing rocket fuel on the planet. It makes sense for moon missions.
He has been working on an alternate plan. He literally tweeted that SpaceX would do the entire mission. Nobody is stopping him.
If y’all haven’t listened to the podcast “13 minutes to the moon” it’s excellent.

Season 1 talks about Apollo 11 (with a single episode on Apollo 8 which is largely the same mission as Artemis 2). Season 2 is on Apollo 13, which is great but everyone knows that story. Season 3 is on Shuttle.
You might be lactose intolerant. If you have a lunch high in cheese/dairy and struggle to digest it, you are spending a lot of energy in digestion.

This was one of my “crash” problems.
Before you say, “wouldn’t I know before now if I was lactose intolerant”, it can sneak up on you later in life.

Direct from China (DHgate) isn’t an option for Christmas regardless. Can take up to 8 weeks to ship

This movie grew on me big time. Saw it in theaters when it first came out, and didn't think it was bad but also not noteworthy. Me and the wife watched it while wrapping presents about 4 years ago, and now it's a mandatory tradition watch every year. Love it.
It's not like there is a big market for putting payloads in Mars orbit. This feat has more to do with payloads than launch providers.
You don’t need a karaoke machine. Just pull up YouTube on your tv and search for any song and add karaoke to the end of it. Then you just need mics and a speaker.

I use an AppleTV and play songs on Apple Music in lyrics mode. Works great. When the new IOS drops this year you’ll be able to use your iPhone as a mic.
It’s my least favorite mass-produced coffee.

I have a flat top, a pellet smoker and a Webber kettle.

That 3-piece setup can tackle pretty much any job, including quick week-night burgers/chicken whatever.

I don’t miss my gas grill one bit, in-fact I’ll never own one again.

Do your own research on brands, but this combo is tough to beat.

Hopefully they add characters outside the Mario universe later on.

I don’t know where, but I read an interview from Nintendo that said this wasn’t happening in MK world.
