Bulldoze Tigerland and put it there.

I’d truly be ok with spending a season at the River center while the PMAC is demo’d and rebuilt in place.
Ain't happening, time to move on. Now that we know the location, I think these preliminary plans are good enough. Widen Nicholson and add a pedestrian bridge like others have mentioned and I can get behind this.

Never thought I’d say this but I’m finally good with them tearing down the LSU golf course and using that space for something useful.
I have a lot of memories playing there but they have let it go to such disrepair lately that I would rather an Arena, parking lots etc.
They NEED to address tigerland though.
All those apartments are shite holes and crime ridden for the most part.

EBR voters voted in October of 2005 for the Green Light Plan which included widening Nicholson from LSU South to Lee/Brightside.
It passed getting 67% yes votes.
In Dec of 2018 EBR voted to approve the MoveEBR road program which rolled the incompleted projects into a new plan, thus assuring financing.
It’s been almost 19 years and despite all the complaints from people stuck in traffic, this project had been neglected.
Don’t blame EBR taxpayers. We voted to widen this key state Highway.

I think part of the consideration is that TAF wants to do a north upper expansion which would take up the road on N. stadium drive. Can’t do that with PMAC in its current spot.

Angel Reese Coliseum
Hopefully, one of her friends will read it to her.

A pedestrian bridge across Nicholson is certainly needed. They already have sidewalks leading to the intersection. They need one pedestrian bridge that goes directly across nicholson and the RR tracks and puts you down right by the right field lot near Alex Box and another that crosses both Nicholson and Gourier and puts you down in front of the new arena.

I believe a pedestrian tunnel built for bikes also would be a better strategy. I believe it’s doable.

Also, why not tie Crescent Road in at West Parker? Or East Boyd?
If you look at the master plan. Burbank/nicholson/Gourrier intersections are changed. Burbank no longer can drive straight across to Gourrier. Gourrier has new light intersection that goes to new roadway that loops parking lots in what was old front 9.
See page 57 of 166 on LSUs 2017 master plan that can be downloaded on lsu.edu website.
Also, south quad at Nicholson will have a RxR crossing by intramural baseball field and football practice facility.

That will need to be leveled soon TBH. Even if they don't build this new stadium.
That’s a little racist bro

Would have been a perfect area for parking.
Why not buy up Tiger land and turn it into a big parking area

Yeah we definitely need to level Tigerland.

The overpass can be pedestrian only on gamedays for football, baseball, or basketball.
Someone in the Rant thread on this was saying that the RR axed the idea of a pedestrian bridge over their tracks for the new Box when it was built.

I can't wait until universities start seeing attendance numbers take a nosedive so we can stop wasting money on stupid shite like this
This will be a multi-purpose facility for concerts as well, so not directly tied to sports or the university.
Also, the idea that university attendance will dramatically decrease is far from certain. College degrees are still very much ingrained in the American psyche.
