Looks interesting, not where I pictured it might be. I see there is a merge down to two lanes in the middle of the new causeway out over the bay. So they will collect tolls from motorists which would put the traffic choke point another mile or so down the road and call it fixed?

Or am I totally misinterpreting the video?

Need the bridge to start around Pascagoula and end around Pensacola with no ramps

Looks great.

There's something missing - anyone want to guess? It's pretty important.

Toll booths.

There are no toll booths in the rendering.

Because everything is electronic

Are LA folks really that out of touch with toll systems?

They tried electronic tolls once in LA. Had to shut it down after losing millions in uncollected tolls

Alabama may be ahead of Louisiana in road development but decades behind in common sense.
George Wallace's name on an I-10 structure is a bigger disgrace than any Civil War General's Monument.

Seriously?

Several years after he was shot and paralyzed in 1972, Wallace became a born again Christian, renounced and apologized for his earlier segregationist past, and asked for forgiveness. He was elected to an unprecedented 4th term as governor in 1982, winning with over 90% of the black vote.

Redemption, man... redemption.

50 years my arse. Toll revenue may as well be heroin to municipalities. Once they get a taste of revenue they Will NEVER end it.

Georgia built and expanded 400 with tolls. With higher than expected use it paid off early.

SURPRISINGLY they kept their promise and removed the toll booths and it is now a free state highway. Even with how red the state is I’m still surprised they did that.

Bridge has a toll and the bayway has a toll. If you take the bridge and the bayway you’ll be tolled on both.

I'm still wondering how the GNO bridge tolls got removed, not when promised, but removed nonetheless.

You could call it that. But really I prefer to live somewhere that my property value will increase, tax money is spent on shite that benefits me, and the schools don’t blow dick.

You should try Saraland then. Baldwin Co. school system has been a mess for a decade now.

Sorry. You can't come back from this:
quote:

The speech is most famous for the phrase "segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever", which became a rallying cry for those opposed to integration and the Civil Rights Movement

Who knows how many lives he adversely affected by his actions as Governor? It's certainly >100 and he is directly responsible for the Selma violence.

Sugar Coat his legacy all you want. He won the Black Vote in 1982 on Party Lines, not his redemption.

That's like Hillary saying marriage is between consenting adults now but 20 yrs ago was indisputably against same sex marriage. frick Them Both.
