You should have a second kid not for you wife but for your only child. Only children are weird and fricked up. Plus if they're close in age, they can entertain each other instead of you having to.
I have no idea where you get this info from. My wife and I have an only child and he is the most well adjusted kid of any of his friends I know. I have lots of friends that have only kids and all these kids are going to be successful, independent, responsible adults. All of these kids have had the full attention of there parents and as long as you aren't some crazy arse helicopter parent the only kids turn out great. It's the kids that feel left out because they have to fight for attention from 4 other siblings that are screwed up. Kids that suffer from parental inattention are the truly screwed up ones.

Your first kid is 3. Trust me, you’re basically at day zero anyway. You have a much better chance of raising healthy, happy kids, that grow up to be productive members of society, if you have another. Only children never learn some very important lessons, that end up being taught the hard way by life. Deep down, you probably know it is the right thing. Everyone’s situation is different, and I don’t know anything about yours, but you sound selfish.
It would be different if your first was 7+ years old.

Curious as to why everyone thinks it's selfish to not want kids / more kids.
Considering most parents I see out just park their kids in front of an electronic device I think it's more selfish to have kids and not be all in than to do a cost / benefit analysis and decide another kid isn't in the cards.

So, you're either going to get divorced or live the rest of your life with a woman who partly despises you for not letting her have a 2nd kid. You fricked regardless.
Don't get more accurate and concise than that.

From the thread title, without reading the post, just PIIHB.

don't feel bad at all because we had over a decade where we didn't have kids and if it was that important to have a big family we'd have started then.
You sound simple and narrow minded. People are allowed to change their minds at any time.
If you can’t give her a child she will find someone who can.

The general common sense rule is to discourage Arky fans from reproducing.
I’ll go with that.
Tell her that you’re the man of the house and you won’t take “yes” for an answer.
The more posts of yours I see, the more sure I am that some Arkansas baw put the big dick to your girl, and you haven’t been able to do anything for her since then. I apologize for that, but we can’t help it that things are a little larger up here.

Foster/adopt an older kid.
Posted on 1/12/20 at 7:24 pm to TopFlightSecurity
No. Just take note of who is cranking them out. The non-crankers aren’t going to have big enough numbers to subsidize the crankers.

Then have another one so you won't have one of those fricked up only children.
Or divorce her and give her half your stuff and 25% of your income so she can get on with her life with someone else.

Not talking about most parents, brother. We’re talking about you. If you actually think you could father a child, and not be “all in” you probably shouldn’t. Your wife’s post partum issues are certainly a consideration, but children are a blessing from God. Just my opinion, but I think you’ll deeply regret not doing it, even if your marriage survives.
My wife and I had 2 boys, almost exactly two years apart. The youngest will graduate at UA next year. I wanted to have another, to try for a girl, and the wife would have none of it. Now she casually mentions adopting, because she is a teacher, and works with so many kids that need parents. It’s a hard no from me now, as I’m 50.

You are in the wrong place for advice baw.
Posted on 1/12/20 at 7:33 pm to TopFlightSecurity
You absolutely should have thoroughly discussed this before getting married. You're pitting her biological programming against your personal desire and only one of those can be overridden. For comparison imagine if one day she decided she was done with sex for life. Would you just accept that as being equal to your own sexual desires?

Because it’s the OT. It’s a hive mind.
I fail to see how having another kid would be better than staying at one in your situation. Either way some one is gonna be unhappy. Seems better to not bring another human into the mix.
