I find this very hard to believe, but not impossible in today’s society.

So tired of hearing this “spark has faded” BS from women:
The “expert’s” solutions.
#1 - Stay Positive
#2 - Bring Back the Fun
#3 - Flirt and Flaunt
I’ve been divorced for six years, but has it really gotten this bad? I feel that almost all of this article is coming from the female point of view.

Physical intimacy isn’t a regular occurrence for every married couple in America, research suggests.
Recent data from the General Social Survey, conducted by NORC at the University of Chicago, shows that 32.5% of married adult respondents said they have not had sex "at all" during the last 12 months. Just 4.1% reported that they have sex more than three times a week.

Decline in intimacy can be caused by a variety of factors, from juggling busy families to hormone imbalances, she noted. In most cases, however, the original relationship spark has faded.
The “expert’s” solutions.
#1 - Stay Positive
quote:
For one week, Elton recommended focusing on the positive aspects of the relationship, making mental notes and sharing them with your partner. This exercise can "shift the whole relationship," she said.
"You need to find time, you need to be intentional, because unfortunately, we always find time to be on our phones, to play little games, to scroll on social media, but we don't find time to be with our partners."
Choosing one night as a "tech-free" night can be a great way to re-connect with your partner, Elton recommended.
#2 - Bring Back the Fun
quote:
"If we don't have fun, what's the point?" Elton asked. "We need to bring fun back into the relationship."
The sexologist recommended another exercise — A-to-Z date nights, where couples choose an activity that starts with a different letter of the alphabet for each date.
#3 - Flirt and Flaunt
quote:
"When couples have been together for a long time, I ask them, ‘So, how do you flirt with your partner? How do you let them know about your erotic intentions?’ And they say, ‘Oh, we don’t flirt.’"
A lack of self-desire as people age can also get in the way of accepting advances for intimacy from partners.
"With women, [with] changing bodies and aging and stress, sometimes we don't feel our best and we may think, ‘I don't know why my partner wants me. I don't want myself,’" Elton said.

I don't. Older people slow down, and younger people think sex isn't as fun as online gaming or standing in line at Starbucks.

33% of Americans are unfortunate looking and fat as frick. Look in the mirror and they should see why their wife isn’t fricking them

Gave old girl the Jolly Roger yesterday afternoon. Always fun. Over 26 years together. Can’t imagine being in a marriage and not knocking it out on a regular basis. Guess it happens.

That's because if they report they are having sex their spouse will know they're cheating.

I get it from the wife about 1-2 times a week. Got some cockblocking arse kids still living with us at 20 and 22 years old. It was much easier when they were younger and we would send them to the inlaws or my parents for the weekend. Thats the biggest reason we dont have sex as much.

Generation Z has real problems. I'd hate to fight a world war knowing we had to depend upon them.

Seems very hard to believe, but there are a lot of lazy people out there.

Why do women (or men) feel like once they get married the grind of trying to look good is over?
Never stop striving to be that sexy thing you were that attracted your partner in the first place.
Having kids is a temporary setback and just an excuse. Stop stuffing your pie hole is a a good start.

quote:Marriage rates have been in continual decline for some time now. Logically, it would seem as though there would be an increasing number of older Americans making up the % of married couples.

So at least some, maybe a significant portion, of that number may be more related to physiological problems rather than to anything else.

The article is written by a woman, and the "sexologist" is a woman, so yeah.

We are hurtling towards a sexless society of highly-politicized, sober bores who spend their entire lives on sterile screens and let AI decide who they should procreate with via artificial insemination. Thrilling.

1 in 3 people are absolute slobs of humans so that tracks.

I get what you’re saying, but we were still having sex 1-2 times a week before we separated. That wasn’t our issue.
