One day when he was about 10 years old he disappeared into the woods, as he always did, and never came back. We figured alligator, moccasin, or killed in a dog fight. But that dog had a great life. Never penned up and 100’s of acres of woods and rivers.

No chance….I have fed dogs a shite load of baby back rib bones and never hurt.

Yeah, she doesn't seem to be having any issues. I figured she would be fine with all that she has eaten before. I just heard my mother's words about cooked bones and Google AI said the same thing. Just figured I would see if any of yall had any adverse experiences.

I always heard you can give dogs uncooked chicken bones but not cooked ones.

My Boston/Frenchie absolutely wrecks both pork and beef bones, raw or cooked. As long as it isn't chicken, in my experience there have been no problems. But then again he could chew through an engine block. If it goes down smoothly it should come out OK.

Dogs have been eating bones since the beginning of time. When I was a kid, in the 50's our dogs and most in Louisiana survived on Table Scraps, and wild game that they caught.
I've owned Beagles since about 1969. Never have I been concerned about what they ate.

My son’s 70 lb rescue lab mix use to eat rib bones in a matter of minutes. My wife’s little 10 lb lap dog though will gnaw on her’s for a day or two before my wife throw’s it away. Her little dog can’t literally eat them in the manner our son’s dog use to, but it’s not due to a lack of trying. Our daughter’s pug can and does eventually eat them. But it takes her the better part of a day, counting frequent breaks for naps.

These days dogs are spoiled and we even have special food for them. I think “pet food” is a scam for the most part. They live less years bc of it. That said, my dogs would probably get diarrhea or pancreatitis from large beef or pork bones. Maybe I’ll give my 13 year old Staffy battling cancer a nice meaty bone and some chocolate when her time comes to cross the bridge.

That chicken carcass was a bigger threat. Though I had a childhood dog that ate a wild rabbit then died from a bone that pierced is intestine. Was an insane death. He went to jump in the back of the truck and just fell and started howling. Very was 12 miles away. He made it but died that night. Autopsy found a bone logged sticking out his intestine.

You would’ve had issues by now if there were any. The dog should be good, hopefully you can relax a bit as it’s never fun worrying about a pet after they eat something they shouldnt.

For every claim of “oh I feed them ribs and whatever all the time and it’s never been an issue”, I have different stories where it didn’t turn out well.
You couldn’t begin to imagine the amount of things and food dogs ingest that can be fatal.
I’ve seen a dog have underwear surgically removed 3 separate times. The 4th time it didn’t make it.
I’ve seen one dog eat a full bag of grapes, get treated, and be fine. I’ve seen a different dog eat less than a handful of grapes and die.
It’s your animal, feed them whatever you want. Just know you are essentially rolling the dice each time you feed them something you’re told not to.
