I knew someone that divorced his wife of 20+ years of marriage because she balooned from 120ish to 250 during the marriage. It didn’t go well with him, his two sons ended up breaking off all contact with him and never spoke to him again.

I have an acquaintance in Tampa who just divorced his wife for the same reason (or so he claims). Dude is 50ish and stays in good shape. Said he couldn't stay married to a woman who would let herself go.
While shallow, I understand his point.

frick that. I take care of myself so I expect my significant other to as well. Eating right and being active is a fundamental part of my life. If my significant other doesn't share that then we're going to have problems long before a weight gain of 40lbs.

Not sure I believe this, but 9n the slim chance this is real...just be honest. It's not that hard to explain to her that she looked different when yall first hooked up. And you liked that look. Ask her to go to the gym with you (unless you are a fatty too).

Yea you don't have to say "you're fat" but you can say "let's take a hike this weekend" or something active. When she's doing it and not feeling great while doing it, tell her she should do this more with you. If she doesn't want to, then you can say she isn't taking care of herself like you are
