Yes, they have a location in the Riverwalk

Back when I used to visit the city, I liked getting up about 5:00 am and going for a run. I’d hurdle 10 lb rats and homeless people until I got the the main Cafe du Monde. Coffee and beignets then I’d run back to the hotel. The sugar and caffeine came in handy on the run back. The homeless folks were starting to wake up so had to move a little faster on the way back.

You are right.

Your story completely negates all statistical evidence that New Orleans is one of the most dangerous cities in the world.

I had a similar experience as the OP last time I was in N.O., only when we went to Cafe Du Monde, some homeless guy who was hacking up a lung sharted himself in front of us. My kids got a good laugh out of it.

It sucks that Nola does have so much scum living here, but let's be honest about who the victims and criminals here. You probably have 10% of the population that are committing crimes and being victims. Your average joe and the visiting tourist are more likely to be hurt on the drive in that they are to be shot or stabbed.

Lucky for you they took down all those racist statues, otherwise you would have been shot, stabbed and raped.

Lake Highlands may be, not sure. The other three aren't, but that's pretty irrelevant. Highland Park, for example, is their own ISD, but it's about 5 minutes from downtown.

So you are comparing a high-wealth ISD to an urban inner city school district. I'd say that's very, very relevant.

If Lakeview formed their own school district, and uptown formed their own school district, those districts and schools would perform significantly better than one made up of Treme, 9th Ward, and NO East.

Take a look at the massive corruption dealing with the school buses in Dallas County. Crap happens everywhere.

Naw, I worked every day in the city when the statues were up.

Truth is... statues being up, or down, doesn't affect a damn thing. Snowflakes on both sides.

Stop telling the truth... they can't handle that on this board.

Keep melting. Sorry your city is horrible by every observable imperial metric. I'm glad you enjoy it though.

I'm assuming you meant "empirical." Thanks for reminding us that you are an idiot.

Saying a city is a good place to live is the complete opposite of melting. Meanwhile, your "throw crap on the wall and see what sticks" post history is the very definition of melting.

Yet, melting about a place you have no connection to. It's very weird.

NOLA people seem very insecure.

Would like to see the larger Louisiana cities figure out how to attract more white collar jobs. A lot of problems will iron themselves out if we can bring more major employers.

Is it finished yet. A few year ago I went to a fundraiser at the children's museum downtown that was raising money for the new spot in City Park.
