She could have found cheaper real estate just north in Jane, Missouri.

I can remember the first year I moved to Pea Ridge.

They didn't have a Walmart but a Marvin's and so I walked in one day and saw a shirtless dude checking out and the prices were jacked up.

A couple years later a Walmart Neighborhood market was open and I did price comparisons between both. Marvin's was on average $2-3 more than Walmart.

Well as expected Marvin's closed up and was replaced by ACE Hardware.

Now Pea Ridge has grown so much that they are building a supercenter right beside it.

I think being a narcissist and completely unhinged are bigger problems for her than real estate costs.

Woman overpaid for everything, never experienced car expenses before (fair enough), and couldnt socialize outside of an overpriced social club. Oh, and her fiancé didnt get a job they were expecting, so...

Oh, and woke "woman's owned" this and that business. She sounds insufferable.

Ultimately, not making as much money as she would have liked and not being in a city drove her to abandon her fiancé. Gay.

I don’t see how she’s a nut job.

She made a bad decision and is admitting it.

Also, she’s correct in that cars are a pain in the arse to own.

Turns out, the reset I needed wasn't a house with a backyard, a husband, or a booming bank account. It was a passport, a carry-on, a half-formed plan, and the nerve that shows up when you let everything else fall apart.

Maybe this sounds great now but get back to me in twenty years when you’re still alone and have nothing in the account and no one to take care of you.

It's her job.

Why do this place seem to hate people that have different priorities and perspectives on life?

Yeah, maybe. Still she's getting a ton of hate. As self-absorbed as she comes off, she's doing something most on this board have too much of an ego to do; admit she fricked up and made a short-sighted decision. Is she making another one? Probably. But the vitriol this woman is getting in this thread is crazy.

Like she was doing Ark a favor by moving her “sophisticated” arse down here. Her ex hit the absolute lottery… has a chance at a peaceful life now.

You could just tell from the title that this was going to lead some Eat Pray Love, feminine freedom, self-empowerment BS. And honestly, I loved every sentence.

This needs to be shown to all the DC, NYC, and Boston dickheads that want to get more bang for their buck in the southeast while not altering their lifestyle or expectations. They need to see how miserable it is down here. Maybe they’ll reconsider and give Cleveland a shot.
