Never underestimate French High command arrogance. Their soldiers were, and are to this day, scrappy as hell. It’s their leadership that has always been questionable.

For sure. The semi finals/finals were every bit as tense as post season baseball. I mean as a player I’d kill to be involved with this rather than some boring arse, meaningless spring training game.
