Nope. You are still one dimensional.

If Wisconsin was one dimensional, say dairy. All you are saying is that the advances in milk technology would help.

You are discussing the the parsley flakes on a baked.

So the people of Louisiana are useless idiots and the reason for the state’s continued failure.

The states with the top public school systems don’t deal with the same demographics and generations of ignorance breeding more ignorance. And bloated systems full of unproductive administrators hired based on nepotism.

EBR spends about $13,000/student, top school districts in Houston are spending around $8-9000/student. The answer is NOT more money. JohnBel.

No. C’mon.lol

It requires looking in the mirror and doing some hard reflection. But most people aren’t willing to do this. They can easily point out others flaws but not their own.

And it probably requires things that are anathema to many.

And some of the things that make Louisiana great (at least to certain citizens) is the same thing that causes problems. Flip side of the same coin.

Oil & Gas is hardly "one dimensional" given the variety of processes, uses, and industries involved. We aren't just extracting crude from the GOM and converting it to gasoline in Louisiana...

What I'm talking about with technology advances is the multi-billion R&D facilities that the petrochemical industry is engaged in across the world related to everything from green energy, automation, industry 4.0, safety, etc.

You develop and drive opportunity in the state through technology centers as I'm describing above, the diversification will come. RTP is a prime example of a center that was initially geared towards life sciences, and as companies/products developed...technology and innovation into a broad variety of sectors followed.

For instance, lets say you got BASF to expand innovation efforts in Louisiana at their Geismar Plant. They have a partnership with Nalco Champion. Nalco Champion is owned by Ecolab...which under that umbrella serves everything from advanced manufacturing to hospitality to healthcare.

The above doesn't happen overnight...but can be killed very quickly with the wrong leadership in place as I described. "Oil, Gas, and Petrochem" companies are investing billions right now in advanced technology solutions that solve problems for their own industries and many others. Meanwhile, JBE is deincentivizing leadership and investors from doing such here.

I realize that it isn’t a two step process.

Again. One dimensional. Still driven by O&G.

Technology centers. In Louisiana. With your education. Lol

You gotta know who you are. And that ain’t it.

Let me be blunt. There are very few successful people working for big companies that want to relo to Louisiana. Or want their company to do so. For a myriad of reasons.

I get what you are driving at.

Because people don’t understand that if we all chip in a little more, the public schools can improve considerably. Instead, we choose to starve the public system and, as a result, we have to pay $8,000 on private school tuition. Do you think the states with top ten educational systems just have more and better private schools? No. They don’t have nearly as many private schools. They have a tax structure which buys better schools for everyone. So tell me how we save money sending our kids to private schools rather than paying a little extra to raise salaries and improve facilities at public schools?

Louisiana spends more money on public schools per student than GA and many other states much more highly rated.

It isn’t the amount that is spent. It’s the quality of the student and the homes they come from.

Education has to be desired. You aren’t teaching the kids that really don’t care, and they are going to distract and disrupt and lead astray the ones that barely care.
You’re lucky to have a few that want to actually better themselves.

Investing more money in this boondoggle is throwing pearls before swine.

Educate the ones that want to learn, spay and neuter the rest

Had a huge influx due to 2016 flood in LP.

Probably done with the recovery.

Unsurprising news.

If they want to save those jobs, Broome needs to allow development in Scotlandville.

She won't because blah blah gentrification.

iirc EBR had one of the highest per student funding in the 90's.

How did that help? It didn't.

The problem with BR schools is we keep electing the exact same types to the School Board and the City Council.

Bottom 5 K-12

Aside from Alaska (where everyone gets a dividend check), the tale of the tape is pretty consistent.

Google "demographics", the stats are there for all to see. Just sayin

Americans aren’t being looked over. Americans don’t want to work. The construction jobs in BatonRouge and across the board pay pretty well and Hispanics are making top dollar. The fact is they show up for work and give actual production.

Every southern state is stacking up good, positive job numbers while Louisiana has had relatively flat job numbers for the past four years.

Some say the governor has no role here, but many believe its a governor’s job to facilitate growth and a good economy. Apparently Edwards believes that too because he brags about a drop in the unemployment rate even though it’s due to thousands leaving the work force, or about a new project announced in LC, NO or elsewhere.

Our total job numbers are about where they were when Jindal left office. JBE says he doesn’t want to go back to the Jindal days, but other than more Medicaid and much higher taxes what is the Edwards’ plan, what’s his vision for the future? Does he have one?

Thousands leaving the job force is a positive in his eyes. Most of those end up on some form of government dole and tend to vote Dem as a result.

Gotta be about the issues JBE hasn’t been terrible as in a full on socialist he stood up to abortion largely going against his party line for that. Also expanded Medicaid for which a lot of folks benefit for medical and mental health in the state where they didn’t have as much access to it prior and he actually moved the needle to get teachers a little more money. But these things always come down to economy in the end, under him we’re in dire need of more jobs and better roads. I think we can do better with someone to give a fresh look at it from outside the political norm and I think that’s Rispone that’s why he got my early vote.

I’m not THAT cynical about him just because he’s a D.

I think he wants what’s best for this state. I just completely disagree with his methods

That plus there are the ones who are just too damn lazy to go and vote. Early voting is underway, right now. They have very few excuses.

But then they bitch when some clown gets elected.
