So they have one of those memorials where someone died in a car wreck on the side of the road here which I'm fine with (for a time, eventually they need to come down though). This one has LED lights all over it though. To me that's a bit overboard and crosses into trashy territory.

What's the OT's opinion?

Why does this bother you? Allow them to mourn and memorialize how they wish

If it makes you feel any better, I wouldn't do that for a memorial for you. In fact I wouldn't even bother with the memorial, so fear not, your potential for trashiness even in death is safe.

Florida doesn't allow road side memorials done by the loved ones. They get taken down and a state sign can be put up instead.

I've seen these put up on the right away in nice neighborhood. They look terrible. I've also seen some locations with multiple signs.

They are getting out of hand.

I would assume they are since it's technically littering.

Yeah, because T-Boy who died at the intersection at the front of my road was on par with Lincoln.

Whether they allow it or not, they are still all over Florida. I have seen some there for years.

What happens when somebody gets disoriented by the lights and runs off the road?

I don't see how distracting other drivers is a good way to memorialize someone who died in a wreck. It's straight trashy.

There's one on an esplanade in my neighborhood that has new balloons and big stuffed animals every couple weeks. You'd think the loved one was buried there.

I had bought a house years ago that had one on the yard near the street. One day I accidently hit it with the lawmower.

felt bad, but it was on my yard for who knows how long.
