re: Saints take UVA S Jonas Sanker

Sanker is a very high IQ player. A sure tackler. Not as much of a ball hawk through the air.

Good highlights from last season here

It’s hard to fathom how much time you would have to think and just be in the moment. That’s a lot of time to get deep in your own head

You mean as an operator or as a professional?

UVA hired VCUs Ryan Odom as next MB HC

Posted by TulaneUVA on 3/22/25 at 12:15 pm
We will never hear the end of how he was the HC of UMBC when they beat us. Oh well…interesting the way things work in life

Fun fact: he was the ball boy for UVA back when his dad served as assistant under Terry Holland

Well you know how it works. Global warming causes both extreme drought, extreme rain, super hot temps, and blizzard colds. So no matter what, it’s cause global warming.

But for real though: one thing I’ve noticed in the last 2-4 years is how low the MS river has been. In the late 2010’s the Ms river was flooding year after year (remember morganza spillway stuff). Wonder if that has anything to do with it

ETA: know for a fact that the 2023 summer was bone dry. Rice farmers in SETX were struggling. Duck season was all about who had water that year.
A lot of this depends on your age and insurance.

ACL partial tear around 30 years old.

Went to Dr Winder in BR. Good guy. Said ACL could pop at any moment and cause more damage later. Then was the right time to replace.

Intense recovery was 3x per week PT for about 3-6 months give or take. And then I had pretty much full strength and was able to run/jog again. Took me a lot longer to gain confidence to cut and do more aggressive things.

10 years later I still don’t have complete full range of motion compared to other knee. But damn I’d be on struggle bus if I had to do it today. That was pretty agonizing pain and recovery.

New Orleans is the place in the world, of all of the places I have been, in which you have the highest probability of having a very good meal by walking into a random restaurant. It also beats everywhere else on mid-price point food. If you want true gourmet food you can find it in New Orleans, but it’s more prevalent in NYC, London, and yes, Houston, which has a VERY good high end food scene.

I can agree with this.

We’re 3 years into the program with 2 to go It’s a big commitment but worth it Don’t mind the trip to socal every quarter either My son is allergic to nuts, eggs, dairy and alot of other things He’s eating every nut their is now and we’ve started egg yolks Milk will be the toughest one to get through It’s a lot of work making all the food he has to eat daily and keeping track of everything

Timbo, would you mind sharing more on your journey? Ex, did you try any treatments before TIP. What got you comfortable with the process? Any surprises (hidden costs)?

If you’d prefer to take this offline, I’d love to email you
I thought you were joking so didn’t respond. No plans to go into debt but thanks for your advice!

Living a normal life I subjective. I would argue that not being able to eat out at a restaurant with your friends or have a family holiday dinner are severe limitations to a normal life

Food Allergy Treatment program (TIP)

Posted by TulaneUVA on 3/4/25 at 11:26 am
Has anyone gone through or had their children go through TIP (Tolerance Induction Program) at the SoCal Food Allergy Institute? Looking for feedback on what got you there (did you try OIT or any other method) and the results. It’s extremely pricey and not to mention the travel/logistics commitment.

It’s tough watching a child go to birthday parties and not be able to eat cakes or try foods at restaurants.

ETA: anaphylactic to wheat, egg and dairy
Let’s be honest. There was a ton of drama tied to this game with politics in the background.

UVA is easily #1 if they had a real fanbase. VT beat them something like 28 of the last 30 years. UVA fans hate VT more then they like themselves and would rather go 1-11 every year then 12-1 with the VT game being the only one that matters. Irony is Hokie fans care more about playing Miami, FSU, Clemson, UNC, NC State and WVU then UVA

Yall get your rocks off at being able to beat us in anything. You’ll never be an elite athletic or academic institution and you’re facing potentially being left out of the conversation of being in a major conference. Must suck huh?

The college one was tolerable as of 3 years ago.

And I’m talking about the Highland/college one. The one near interstate was always a cluster
Agreed. All stuff and no fluff
