They should all be against the law.
Not sure why people choose to do this. IMO it's retarded.
That's the purpose of cemeteries.

That is what cemetaries and headstones are for.

There's one in Houma on the corner of Bayou Blue Road and Prospect. Has some stuffed animals and all sorts of stuff, I think it was a family of 4 or 5 that died there in a wreck. Anyway, that happened well over 10 years ago and it's still there. Every now and then someone changes out the stuffed animals, super trashy.
I've also seen one with a bike as part of the memorial, I know it's in Houma but I can't remember where.

The ghost bike on Perkins for Nathan Crowson is kind of dangerous for drivers turning on to Perkins from Quail Run. Someone I know wanted it tidied up or moved but was told by city they can't/won't touch memorials.

Roadside memorials should be taken down after an appropriate time for grieving, perhaps a year. They are a driving hazard, and an unnecessary expense for roadside maintenance. Graveyards are for permanent memorials. I don't need to be reminded that driving is dangerous. A drive down a country road should be a pleasant experience, not a drive-thru cemetary.

Is there anything to stop a property owner from getting rid of one of those memorials? Especially one that's been there for a while. And would the person who put it up have to get the property owners permission to start with?

Do all billboards and lights on the side of the road distract you?

Isn't that the intention of a roadside memorial....."look over here at my monument to attention whoring"?
