I am aware. It is all about maximizing the output at harvest time and minimizing the tax burden.

Don’t go to med school if you’re not prepared for the delayed gratification. Also, don’t go into medicine for the money. Yes, depending on the specialty, you start out at 35 but you’ll be making $500k right out of training.

Went to law school. Don’t do it. Seems like med school is a better roi.

Find a job that interests you and for which you have a knack. That's going to get you a lot farther in life.

Then go to med school. You will have all kinds of free time to fish.

There’s no way this thread is real. If it is I’m really sorry for you OP. Your life is destined to disappoint you with the values/goals/life approach you are displaying here. You have a lot of growing up to do.

If you have to ask the OT this question you are not med school material, go be a schyster.

Recent article: What I Learned About Life at My 30th College (Harvard) Reunion

quote:

2. Every classmate who became a teacher or doctor seemed happy with the choice of career.

3. Many lawyers seemed either unhappy or itching for a change, with the exception of those who became law professors. (See No. 2 above.)

6. They say money can’t buy happiness, but in an online survey of our class just prior to the reunion, those of us with more of it self-reported a higher level of happiness than those with less.

I am a second-year law student. I'm not a lawyer yet, obviously, so I can't speak to exactly what lawyer life is like.

Law school, like med school I'm sure, is a ton of work. You'll read until your eyeballs fall out. You'll learn more information than your brain can actually hold. Mental/emotional breakdowns will probably happen. The job market is tough, it is even a fight at times to get summer clerkships, particularly if you aren't in the top 10% or so of the class.

All of that said, I do enjoy it and it does feel rewarding. It impacts your outlook on the world because you start to analyze many things from a legal prospective. Job availability depends on a lot of factors, such as where you are, what type of law you specialize in, and what size firm you are looking to get into.

Lawyer here. Love what I do. I do alright financially, but let me give you a piece of advice. If you’re in it only for the money, do not go to law school. A doctor would probably tell you the same thing about medical school. It’s not all glam underneath the service. If it was, everyone would be doing it.

This. From working at law firms and observing things, I can tell you it is not always a glamorous job. It is a lot of work, frustration, etc.
