ABC News lead article for fricks sake. This isn’t hard.
Sorry for only reading the CNN and FOX news articles on the situation, and other people here have mentioned as well it may be erroneous.

Yeah, the reservists are getting the same range time and training as 2/75 or CAG. Cut the shite. You're being disingenuous

Just because people have cell phones in their hand 247 doesn’t mean they’re going to try to get social media famous while a shooting spree is happening lol.
What about after? I'm not necessarily talking about during the attack...
People record everything now when something is happening. During the Boston bombing lockdown, people were recording the police from their living room windows. Nothing like that here from what I have seen from a town with a population of 36K.
Whatever. Maybe it all makes sense to you.

You think people involved in an attack are going to want to post shite right after like dead bodies or chaos they just lived through?

People that are a threat to themselves and others are routinely kept against their wishes in mental facilities, and people can be deemed incompetent where guns and other rights are removed.
He voluntarily committed himself. Usually you only lose gun rights if the state commits you against your will. It takes a judge to "adjudicate" a person as "mentally defective" and that likely won't happen if a guy goes in voluntarily. The state wouldn't even know about it, in fact.
However, this wasn't a normal circumstance of some depressed guy. He told people he had homicidal ideation and wanted to "shoot up" a base. I am not clear whether he only told doctors this or whether he made the threat publicly. The two circumstances are different. If he made the threat publicly, I doubt he would be allowed to go in voluntarily. (But again, I don't know for sure how all that went down).
Doctors are supposed to report to Police if they feel a guy's threats are significant. We don't know exactly what went down here between the facility and Cops. I do know mental health is private and Cops won't even know a guy is in the hospital unless he was forced to go against his will. Cops can force a guy on a 72 hour hold without a warrant. After that a judge has to get involved if they want to hold him longer.

Other people live in town. 36,000 weren't all in the bowling alley.
But to answer your question, have you not seen the videos uploaded after other attacks? Unfortunately, it happens all the time!

Related… for all the talk of social services…the funding and actual places people can go get help has severely diminished from 10-20 years ago.
They pump funds into BS non profits that don’t do shite. The only facilities are essentially prisons or homeless.
Day treatment and short stay state funded facilities are non existent.

Shooting unarmed civilians inside is not exactly difficult. Any Tom dick or harry that has ever shot a couple hundred rounds could easily pull this off.
No reason to judge this guys abilities until he is engaged by armed LE.
Let’s be honest here, our current FBI is most likely not interested in confronting this guy randomly. My guess is this morning they are working more on finding the guy without alarming him and putting as many factors in their favor as possible to prevent LE injuries. Which is not entirely bad as long as there is no risk to the public like he is hiding out in the country. Tons of rural cabins in Maine.
All true. I haven't read the accounts of what happened so cannot really comment on what his apparent capabilities were.

For the record, I believe the attacks happened and dozens of real people died. The guy in the security footage most likely is the Card guy.
I'm just surprised my timelines aren't filled with people talking about their loved ones that are missing or died. No videos of police cars rushing to and fro.
If not for "Maine" being in the trending topics of my twitter feed, I wouldn't have known anything happened there last night...and I follow hundreds of news people/accounts.

I'm sure the reservists that enjoy shooting guns don't do the bare minimum required range time to keep their reserve status.
Actually I know from having a friend that is a reserve (previously active duty) and owns 10+ rifles and goes and shoots them all the time.
Of course I have other friends that were never active or reserve that do that as well.

The issue here is not enforcing BASIC laws already on the books.
Yet again.
That's what gets me too. There are laws that could have, and should have in this case, prevented this from happening. But, again, here we are with a person who had known mental issues, had made credible threats, and spent time in a me tal institution just a couple months ago perpetrating a violent crime on a community where law enforcement and medical professionals failed to protect them with the apparatus already in place.
So nobody should be talking about any gun control legislation or anything else until they address how they start enforcing and using the things already in place to deal with this kind of situation.

Not sure it has been mentioned but a good amount of the people killed were Deaf individuals at the bowling alley
They were having a cornhole tournament
If that's true, it seems this guy was out to maximize body count. He may not be done yet. They need to get his arse quick.

I just communicated with a friend who lives in Maine. He's traveling today but said he and his are all safe and that everyone is on lockdown.

I’m sure LE knows more but if he wanted to continue this I would have expected him to be active already.
I believe I have read that most people that ‘plan’ these things don’t really plan beyond the initial evac.
