This argument is just plain stupid. Never have rules because the government may abuse them.
But there are rules. Assuming he actually threatened to shoot up a military base, SHOCKER THAT IS AGAINST THE LAW, and I'm no lawyer, but seems like it's a felony. People that are a threat to themselves and others are routinely kept against their wishes in mental facilities, and people can be deemed incompetent where guns and other rights are removed.
All of those government created solutions failed, so you want to create more government solutions. It's mind boggling.

Things that aren't making sense right now...other than the murders
- Potential discrepancy between mugshot and security cam stills
- I haven't seen the typical witnesses describing what happened on the TV coverage I have watched...or social media.
- Very little cell phone video of the attack(s) or aftermath. I only saw one short video of people running across a lawn/parking lot.
- After my twitter timeline was covered with this last night, there is almost nothing about it this morning.

This person has been hospitalized for mental illness, so that will take center stage over assault rifles. The bowling alley was a kids league night.

Can you substantiate that? Everything I've seen is saying that was an erroneous report.

It’s gotta be a conspiracy, right!?!?!!!?

May? You have to be kidding.
Civil forfeiture a rule near you?

The shooting unfolded in part during youth night at a local bowling alley. Witnesses described a desperate scene where people hid behind benches and tables and even inside the machine at the end of the lane where the pins are.
ABC News lead article for fricks sake. This isn’t hard.

If it is an erroneous report, this named witness is lying.

HARROWING: A kids bowling league was underway when an eyewitness told @ABC she heard a loud bang before her father, a retired cop, corralled her & her family into a corner. “I was laying on top of my daughter. My mother was laying on top of me,” said Riley Dumont.

CONTINUED: Her 11 year old daughter was bowling when she said she heard several shots. Dumont saiid she saw three or four bodies but was mainly trying to stay quiet and shield her daughter. She dialed 911 about 8 times to alert police.

Still at large
What a nightmare for people of Maine. Hell, it's a nightmare for New England at this point since he's had time to travel a decent distance if he had access to a car. I can't remember another mass shooting where the guy was at large this long.

Not saying that...just saying the aftermath is different than previous mass shootings.
Even in rural-ish Maine, people have cell phones and upload stuff to social media.

Again, I'm not saying it is a conspiracy. I am just saying this one has a different aftermath.

Not sure it has been mentioned but a good amount of the people killed were Deaf individuals at the bowling alley
They were having a cornhole tournament

Just because people have cell phones in their hand 247 doesn’t mean they’re going to try to get social media famous while a shooting spree is happening lol.

A lot of guys in the reserves were on active duty at one time. Front line or not, they get arms training. This guy was apparently an arms instructor if I recall the initial article so I would assume he remembered those things from his time in training.
Shooting unarmed civilians inside is not exactly difficult. Any Tom dick or harry that has ever shot a couple hundred rounds could easily pull this off.
No reason to judge this guys abilities until he is engaged by armed LE.
Let’s be honest here, our current FBI is most likely not interested in confronting this guy randomly. My guess is this morning they are working more on finding the guy without alarming him and putting as many factors in their favor as possible to prevent LE injuries. Which is not entirely bad as long as there is no risk to the public like he is hiding out in the country. Tons of rural cabins in Maine.

Vegas 2.0. Might as well get the conspiracy theories going.
