Why does Atlanta name streets after Florida people like Juan Ponce de Leon and Henry Flagler? I’ve never heard of an Oglethorpe Street in Florida.

flagler avenue is named after thomas flagler, who owned a construction company that built a lot of buildings in atlanta...
there was an old mineral spring that was named after ponce de leon because of his search for the fountain of youth...the road built there was named for him because of the mineral spring...
