I missed that. Ok, that makes more sense.

Useless is kind. There is plenty of information that if you keep touching your mask it's worse.

We were actually thinking of switching my daughter to an all girls private school this year but I think we’re just going to let her do remote and switch her next year instead.

I haven't come into contact with a single person wearing a mask that didn't tug at the front of it at least every 15-20 seconds.

They already took a huge hit in many ways, one of which was the fundraising aspect. The school one of mine used to attend lost out on $75k this past spring.
Now throw all these useless restrictions in, loss of fundraising events this fall, and a decrease in disposable income for many families. What a cluster frick

I was standing 6’ away from someone the other day and we were wearing mask, tugging on them the entire time

Same with our kids school. The annual May event, which was cancelled, brings in 100+k and I'm sure the fall festival will also be cancelled.

The school did do an excellent job with the online platform. My kids were in class from 8am-1pm 4 days a week while their public school friends were out playing from sun up to sundown, but we, the parents, still had to be part-time teachers. Like most private schools, our tuition has already been paid for 20/21 but if they go to remote learning again, there will be plenty of demand for refunds.

The forced mask wearing is bullshite.

I really do not understand people's issue with this. It is literally not any harm and likely does more good than be problematic.

Why is there so much push back? If it lowers the chances of spread even 1%, why is the so damn controversial.

There is your problem. I will wear a mask when needed in the correct places and that's my choice. I'm not totally against it, but the herd mentality that it's a surefire thing and should be required everywhere is just dumb.

you wouldn't consider a school full of kids of ranging ages an appropriate place? seems like the ideal environment to me

The in school procedures are what they are, but the huge choking point is going to be bussing...if we're still in phase 2 that means 50% capacity when a lot of school districts are needing to sit kids in the aisles.

In many minds, this is acceptable because of the scary virus.

Don’t forget about changing classes. 100s of kids in those hallways all at once.

You can mitigate that, to some extent, by grouping kids according to their course list as much as possible and just having the teachers rotate through the classrooms instead.

think if we're still in phase 2, they will cancel PE classes and make use of gyms as classrooms.

Awesome, the one class that can actually help a kid lessen the downside of this respiratory disease is canceled.

Depending on ages of the kids and class sizes, one positive case could disrupt a large percentage of the classroom - including the teacher.

Yep. And will teachers not be paid if they're forced to self quarantine? Will kids be forced to stay home and their parents have to stay home from work? Wonder if there is further explanation there.

Well the good news is that it sounds like they're going to do targeted shutdowns and not mass shutdowns.

Excellent policy

Exact same thinking as all those people that got on the trains when the Germans told them to.
