Yep they’ll probably hire some of the stay at home moms always lingering around campus to do temp checks at school entryways

This is another hint that they're going to be absolving themselves of any liability.
As they should. I wish the president would do an EO that removes liability from any school, business, etc.

going to be difficult enforcing the mask rule, it's dumb and kids are more defiant and impulsive these days.

They are already doing that with restaurants. I can't imagine a school with hundreds of kids and teachers.
Oh I can. I experienced it right before we shutdown. That week before we did, Humana (several offices based in downtown Louisville) had people test positive and they started sending people home to work from home.
The day it was announced I had people come sign out their kids within an hour of the announcement on social media because “their friend’s parent works at Humana”. By the end of the day we had about 100-150 kids leave.

Some districts I see doing the first semester online
Where are all the free chromebooks?

I don't see how districts will just allow students to selectively wear/not wear masks based on presumptive breathing issues. I'm guessing those that say they can't wear a mask will be asked to attend via an alternative setting aka distance learning

Exactly what is happening now. Every cough or sniffle has to be treated as COVID and then the group freaks out. Work becomes the boogie man while they still go out with their friends in places with no social distancing

I agree. There are a lot of parents who are going to refuse to send their kids back until we’re out of all phases. Take those kids and the ones who won’t wear masks and let them distance learn. But give the learning some teeth unlike the 4th quarter of the last school year.

All these people arguing about the Armageddon that will occur when school starts.
I'm just sitting here sending my kids to daycare everyday. We haven't died yet, but I'll keep you guys posted.

Anyone who comes within close contact of someone infected at school (less than 6 feet for 15 minutes or more) should be isolated at home for 14 days.
So they'll shut the school down every time there's a case

School buses should be interesting.

I don't think we're arguing based on our personal beliefs/opinions....I'm just trying think ahead to what the masses will freak out about and go from there. We no longer live in a world where you wait on facts to react, you have to preempt the reaction of mass perception

Yeah in Lafayette they decided that too many kids didn’t have internet access at home to implement online learning in March. I’m sure if you choose to not send your kid next year they’ll have to either sign up to complete distance learning with fidelity or withdraw and enroll in a home school program.

Send me the month's lesson plans.
Once I finished it after a few days or a week, I'd have been free to do other things with my time.

My kids school district just sent a questionnaire...2 options, rotating days or rotating weeks.

Seems like weeks with a deep cleaning every weekend makes more sense

They’ll just require documentation of issues and everyone has a friends that’s a doctor to write that

Right, and in turn they'll be offered an alternative learning setting

I saw a copy of the proposed school calendar for one of the charter districts in New Orleans, students 1st day of school is August 3rd.

You can’t keep a kid from going to school because of a medical condition
