Highlights from the article: (the entire plan is in the story)

Practice social distancing and congregate in small groups with minimal contact with other groups.

Students in grades 3-12 will be required to wear masks if they don't have breathing issues. Staff will be required to wear masks.

Students and staff will be monitored for symptoms each day, including upon entry.

Any student with COVID-19 must remain home until he or she has recovered and has been deemed non-infectious by a doctor.

Anyone who comes within close contact of someone infected at school (less than 6 feet for 15 minutes or more) should be isolated at home for 14 days.

Schools may close for 3-5 days if they are determined to be an ongoing source of spread. That will be determined by school leadership in consultation with regional medical directors.

That actually isn’t that cumbersome, I’m still for balls to the wall full open, but that isn’t too bad

TX came out with something similar a few weeks ago. Now the state is poised to shut down again. Looks like remote learning again.

Depending on ages of the kids and class sizes, one positive case could disrupt a large percentage of the classroom - including the teacher.

We can’t get kids to tuck in their shirt and wear an ID. How in the hell are we going to get them to wear a mask? What if they don’t wear it? Do we suspend them?

This is going to be an absolute nightmare.

Things like tucking in your shirt are pointless and the school has no grounds for making kids do those things and they know it. I imagine it'll be different when you have the backing of a pandemic.

It’s cheap, easy, and effective. What’s your problem?

Some people think wearing masks is step one in forcing everybody to wear a hijab.

wasn’t there a study that said the viral load in kids was so low that they were not good vectors for transmission?

i can't imagine how nasty a school kids mask will be at the end of the day.

or shite a high schoolers for that matter, you know these little asshats wont take care of any mask they get, and they will forget them at home, leave them in the bathroom etc
