The in school procedures are what they are, but the huge choking point is going to be bussing...if we're still in phase 2 that means 50% capacity when a lot of school districts are needing to sit kids in the aisles.

Busses in our district make two trips each in morning and evening. Some kids in our parish are already getting on the bus at 630 AM. I don't see how this is going to be at all feasible.

Well in these cases it's because they:

A. Have a shortage of busses/bus drivers and/or

B. Lack funding for adequate busses/bus drivers

I'd imagine doubling up of routes will cause a lot of districts to look at 4 day weeks or something else really creative schedule wise

Does Louisiana have enough teachers for phase 1 to allow 5 day weeks? 9 students per teacher?

Kids in our area get on at 5:50 am(I believe state law says 6 am is earliest but districts/drivers push this to and beyond the limit)

The only way to do Phase 1 would be groups that rotate in classroom and virtual.

Another issue is going to be checking every single student's temperature every day. Will this be done by bus drivers are at the school before they're allowed entry?

Kids are going to be "quarantined" constantly.

This is fricking dumb.

Kids are getting a shitty education, while unnecessarily having the shite scared out of them.

The lack of critical thinking ability in this country is astounding.

This is gonna be a shite show when schools open up. It’s a mess just with summer sports starting back up. My 17 year old turned up positive Tuesday so she has to quarantine 14 days, retest after 10 days of quarantine to make sure she is negative. The whole team also has to quarantine and get tested. This is for a team with 11 kids. I can not imagine what it will be like when a kid turns up
Positive during the school year. :/

Facemasks are only a thing because Trump said he wasn't going to wear one.

We are watching a live dog and pony show in this country.

The big thing that people aren’t discussing is that the “group of kids” plan is impossible in high schools and in some middle schools. In elementary school you can group kids and have them take all the same classes together. You won’t be able to do that in high school. One kid might be an honors math student but a D- English student. How are we going to keep those kids together? Not to mention that with pathway programs in high schools, not all students even have the same core subjects.

Most high schools will have to go to a true block system at the very least

Yeah maybe but that doesn’t solve the problem I mentioned. You may be able to get away with half of a grade level being grouped and taking the same classes together throughout the day. Not sure how you account for the rest remaining in groups.
