Is this only for Louisiana or does it also apply to Greenland?

Ironic when they will be the cars most likely involved in a high-speed chase.

I know this is said in jest, but that is not an unforeseeable outcome. And I'm not sure that's what the family and legislators are envisioning with the creation of the plate.

I'm just going to go ahead and say it: Why do we need to pay for a specific license plate to train police officers how to drive?

Pursuit regulations and the training for those regulations already exist. They have existed for a long time. They existed before this tragedy.

A special license plate isn't going to do shite about a police officer who's an adrenaline junky and ignores what he was trained to do.

You really want to see changes, you need to advocate for real consequences. Start putting cops in jail for these kinds of things and they will quit ignoring their training.

geauxkw - First, I want to say I'm truly sorry for your loss — I can only imagine the pain and heartache your family has endured. If the money raised from these plates goes toward better police training and helps prevent other families from going through the same thing, then it's not just worth it — it's necessary.

The cop went to jail?

What about the people he was chasing?

Hypothetically, when ordering, can we get a new license plate number?

raised from the plates will go to police training on pursuits so hopefully by the grace of God , no other parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents, will have to go through what we have gone through.

What about the real cause of the accident, the fools who run from the police?

that I’m not a fan of creating this specialized license plate in their names. It individualizes a common source of tragedy, death by auto accidents, inappropriately, IMO.

i have no idea what this is intended to really mean.

I hope that's true.

In reality, I'm sure it'll just go towards other things in their budget.
