Is this the forecast for somewhere in Louisiana or Chicago? You may never see this again.

They have snow in the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday too not in that graphic. Craziness. They’re going to have pics and vids of the snow in north LA on the local news all next week

What’s the northshore looking like? North of I12. Every time I check my weather app it changes. I know they are usually the last to follow trends

You're in that "who the frick knows" area. I currently think it'll just be rain before it gets cold there but it could easily bust to the cold side and you get some ice.

Once we get within 60 hours, some helpful models come into range that will be better at figuring out how far SE the cold air at the surface can get.

Figure out how you'll heat your home if you lose power. Consider what you need to do for the pipes at your house if the temps get down to 15 or lower. Check back Saturday and we might have more answers.

At what point do you just shut off your water and drain the pipes? It’ll be lower than 17 and in single digits frequently for at least 36hrs here. Don’t think we can shut water off that long.

Have outdoor faucets covered with those insulated things, then a sterlite pinned over each to offer a bit more protection.

We have tickets to see Tab Benoit in Houston Sunday night. Leaving Lafayette around 8 AM on Sunday and coming back to Lafayette Monday morning. Anyone have any insight on icy conditions on the road on 1-10 during these times?

Generally, if you're in the house and running water as you do on a daily basis, you shouldn't have alot of problems. You certainly want to open your cabinets and drip your faucets at night, and if you aren't at home during the day.

Why do they always say wintery mix but never summery mix? Is a summery mix impossible? Then why the need to qualify the wintery mix?
