Forgot to mention also that we used Destination Drivers as our DD while tasting wine. They are licensed and insured to drive your car or rental car. We had Mel as our driver. She was awesome. She knows the area well.
We just went in September for my wife’s 50th. I’ll give you our itinerary and food places because we had an amazing experience at all of them.

Wineries

Hawks Hill Ranch - we did the ATV tour which was phenomenal

Bodega Dr Edgar - Spanish varietals. Just a tasting room in an industrial park but they should be close to finishing their tasting room at the winery

Law Estates - great wine. Mostly GSM and blends. Beautiful view and tasting room

L’Adventure - We did the library tasting in the caves. Beautiful wine and property

Zobeto - very small production. Taste outside under the pistachio trees, which you get to snack on while tasting. Lovers their wine also

Food

Niner Wine Estates - Full-service restaurant at a winery. Food was amazing. You can also do a tasting while you’re having lunch. The outside courtyard area where you eat is beautiful.

StreetSide Ale House and Eatery - bar food but burgers were amazing. Large tap beer and bourbon selection

Finca Paso Robles - counter service and small but amazing tacos and margs

Junction Tapas and Winebar - Spanish tapas and wine. Paella was the bomb. Owner/chef was very nice. We went twice!!

Firestone Walker Brewing Company - huge arse brewery with an awesome food menu

We also took an off day and drove down to the coast….Morro Bay. Very cool spot on the Pacific. We hopped around for apps and drinks. We stopped at Rose’s Bar and Grill, Dutchman’s Seafood House, and The Galley Seafood Grill and Bar. Morro Bay has its own oysters and they are tasty!!

Let me know if you need any information. You can always DM me. We love Paso. Hope y’all have a great time.

There is a private driver company that uses your own vehicle or rental car. It’s $50/hr, tip not included. We’ve use the same service in Napa and Sonoma too. Well worth the price!!

Wife’s 50th in Paso Robles

Posted by Scoobahdoo on 7/17/25 at 12:39 pm
Wife and I going to Paso for 3 days of wine tasting. We’ve passed through once and did some tastings, but obviously I want a more elevated experience for my wife’s birthday. Y’all have some recommendations on the more highly rated, high end wineries? Boutique and personal? Looking for something that is not mass produced. We drink mostly anything. Cabs, Syrahs, Petit Sirahs, Zins, Mourvèdre, Grenache, Malbecs, Petit Verdots, Cab Francs, etc. TIA

So yours doesn’t stick without seasoning it? Again, I’m new to the stainless griddle

Thanks for sharing. I had a Blackstone before but that’s cast iron. I wasn’t sure if there was a difference seasoning the 304 stainless steel. Just wanna keep it clean for the next cook!! Thanks!

Poor but know how to season a griddle

And yet you’ve shared nothing except your assholeness. You haven’t learned how to communicate properly apparently. Sorry about that for you. I mean asking a question on a food board….who would have thought asking for what has worked for people would be a trigger for you.

New Griddle Seasoning

Just got a Coyote 30” drop-in griddle installed. So ready to use it. What’s the best oil and process to season this thing up before my first cook. Also, do y’all apply any oil after cleaning? Griddle still need to be hot? TIA

Pinball map is your friend. Max’s has a Addam’s Family but it’s pretty beat up. Legends Pub has a Pulp Fiction. Adopted Dog Brewery has a SW Pro. Legends on Bertrand has a Godzilla Pro.

Bayou Teche Brewery is where it’s at though. 10 machines at the moment. All in great condition. They should be getting a King Kong Premium and an Evil Dead this month. Also, if you’re interested, there’s a tournament being held at the brewery May18th starting at noon.

The guy that’s managing the tournament just moved back into the area. He started this website and a Facebook group. He along with myself and others are trying to grow the hobby in Acadiana. We need more pins around town!! Happy flipping!!

Accidentally downvoted you while scrolling…should have been an upvote. Sorry

No vintage machines. Modern pins so they don’t draw as much power as the old arms

Thanks for the advice. I’m going to mention this to my electrician and see what he thinks

Surge Receptacle with WiFi

Posted by Scoobahdoo on 3/13/25 at 8:12 am
I have a whole house surge protector but I have 5 pinball machines that I want extra protection. Each machine has its own receptacle. Do they make a smart wall receptacle with surge protection built in? Trying to clean things up behind the machines and not have so much clutter. TIA
Passport expires September 20, 2025. We leave for DR on March 5th..
Mine expires in September. I have a Punta Cana trip in March and a Cancun trip in June. So I should be good renewing in between those trips, right?

re: Cadillac XT4 Sport

Posted by Scoobahdoo on 1/23/25 at 8:18 am to
My wife just traded hers in. She hated it. Car doesn’t ride or handle well. Bounces all over the place. Fuel mileage sucks too. She went back to a car…a Mercedes CLE 300. Much heavier frame and the technology in that thing blows Cadillac away…

Only on 1.5 mg of Tirzepetide/Niacinamide. We never ramped up the dose.

Crazy shite is I’ve been a rockstar for the most part just 2 weeks ago. Could usually last awhile and hard as rock. And yes…my wife’s sex drive is crazy. That’s why this shite is fricking with me…Of course, she’s saying that she must be the problem that all of this is happening…

That’s exactly what is going on. My head is all jacked up and the wife is looking at me like WTF?
