Drain the lines and leave the valves open, there will still be some water in the lines but if they freeze ice will take the path of least resistance and go the length of the pipe and and not burst them, and an empty water heater will be fine

I'm calling this now, I rank this a two handle of Jim Beam catastrophe.

Plan accordingly

Apparently it’s supposed to dump snow up here in Little Rock between Sunday night all the way to Thursday. School canceled here today, tomorrow and likely all next week.

The most snow I’ve ever seen was in Baton Rouge, dec 2017. Kind of excited but also don’t think I want it lasting for 4-5 days.

I was supposed to drive to Little Rock on Monday. Guess that’s not happening now.

Latest HRRR dipping BR into the mid 30’s tonight and keeping us there basically all day tomorrow. Maybe if this holds we’ll see wintry precip tomorrow. Current short range forecast of 47 tomorrow is way too warm for the high imo. HRRR not buying it and keeping us in mid 30’s and rain

Baton Rouge won't get any wintery precip tomorrow unless it falls below freezing because the warm nose is significant that far south. Everything will melt and won't refreeze falling through mid 30s air.

Yep. Could see some slick spots on bridges and elevated roadways though and the local news is too busy declaring what might happen early next week a nothing burger

You can also use a compressor to blow more water out.

Hey, this is off the winter weather topic, but do you know of anywhere that catalogs soundings from historic weather events? I've been looking for soundings from April 27, 2011 in AL. I've seen a couple, but not many.
