I agree on the prayers.
I saw what was left of a camp I sold a few months before Hurricane Rita.
There was not much to pick up as the camp was gone.
No way would I stay in lower Cameron or Vermilion Parish in any strong storm after seeing that.

Mom’s asking if it will be safe for her to leave tomorrow afternoon and drive the coast to BR. Dad keeps yelling Laura is a big nothingburger.

Is that English? I don’t understand one word.

Translation:
Since Laura has cleared Cuba and gotten into the Gulf, it has been able to strengthen some and wrap storms more completely around its core. These storms are a sign of a strengthening Laura. The change in course over the past few hours is likely due to the wrapping of storms around the core, and it does not represent a longterm shift in heading.

Also, what shear Laura is dealing with may have changed a bit, and could also be influencing the current wobble.

TWC earlier said the surge will make it all the way to Moss Bluff. They left out the part about how that will only affect you if live by a body of water. Someone I know called me worried that storm surge was going to go through every tree between the gulf and Pentangelli Square where they live.

Fear-mongering on TWVC is worse than CNN

Lol saw that too. He made it sound like everything west of vermillion bay from the coast to I-10 Was going to be under water
