I’d say for events like this where it’s the news and what’s happening CNN is top. It’s when you get into the option politically motivated showed both CNN and Fox go in the tank

The way I understand it a lot of Russians think Ukraine is theirs anyway (historically Russian lands). Them wanting in on nato is the last straw to try and take it back I think.
Also Putin has a massive ego and this is probably his last push at leaving a legacy.

Because we instigated an uprising and installed a western friendly govt that has taken anti-Russian actions.

The Afghanistan withdrawal and God awful massacre of 13 Marines set this up. Biden had a terrible plan and allowed marines to die and never retaliated. Putin isn’t scared, Xi/China isn’t scared, Iran isn’t scared. frick Joe Biden forever.

This plus agreements with Putin that Nato would not add Ukraine years ago. Nato is trying too anyway. Putin isn't a good guy but the other guys aren't good either.

Well this won’t go over well.
For reference:
Should Finland join, that surrounds Russia’s NE flank with NATO. Finland is much closer to joining NATO than Sweden, but interesting both are joining. Regardless Sweden has been advocating for collaborative Nordic security vs NATO membership. If Finland does join that basically links the Nordic countries with NATO anyway, sharing another large border with Russia.
