If you haven’t realized by now, the president can do whatever he wants at any time, for any reason. Watergate would be a nothingburger in this day and age.

Ukraine can use Swedish weapons to attack on Russian soil. Since the Swedes have given Ukraine a number of Archer SPGs (and the Archer is really the world's best artillery piece), this is significant.

What then is Sweden's stance? Is Ukraine allowed to use the weapons we handed over to attack targets on Russian territory? I put the question to Defense Minister Pål Jonson and received this written answer: "Ukraine is exposed to an unprovoked and illegal war of aggression by Russia. According to international law, Ukraine has the right to defend itself through military actions aimed at the enemy's territory as long as the military actions comply with the laws of war. Sweden stands behind international law and Ukraine's right to defend itself."

Embarrassing that Sweden has more balls than our Admin. Hopefully Blinkin is successful in his effort to convince the Prez we need to take (at least some of) the gloves off.

Doubtful. President is napping at home in Delaware before Matlock comes on.

What's the saying? Something about doing the right thing, after all other options have been exhausted.
Momentum is certainly building for a policy change.

Why do you never link articles about the daily Belgorod terrorist attacks?

Since Russia is abusing our humanity by launching attacks openly from right across the border, the abuse of our humanity should lead to a change.

Does cypher work for you? Normally, people post what they want to post. That's how TD works.

The only way to put an instant end to this is to play nuclear brinksmanship...
How would America react to that?
The Kremlin threatens Nuclear War over every action anybody else takes... it's their one hand to play.
Now, if Poland goes nuclear, will they be as afraid of playing chicken with Russia as the US?
WIll China adopt Nuclear threats as a way to exert its claim over Thailand?
As North Korea develops longer-range missiles, will they start more directly threatening Japan and whoever else?
We managed to have a Cold War-free 30 years of not worrying about nuclear war... maybe that's all we get, because human beings are just awful.

A Churchill quote "America can be counted on to do the right thing after all other options are exhausted."
In context trying to keep staff morale up as they tried to convince the U.S. to enter the war.

One of Bidens only hopes to win is a huge foreign policy "victory".
A ceasefire in Ukraine before our election could be a lifeline for your and GOP_Tiger's candidate of choice, Crooked Joe Biden.

This iPhone was made in China... and they built something in that autocorrects "Taiwan" to "Thailand" if you aren't vigilant enough to spot it.
Just goes to show how they can't be trusted!

ISW Update

Key Takeaways:
Russian forces are reportedly concentrating forces of unspecified size in western Belgorod Oblast near the border with Ukraine, likely to fix and draw Ukrainian forces to the area and prepare for offensive operations that aim to expand the Russian foothold in the international border area in northeastern Ukraine.
Western officials continue to publicly debate Ukraine's right to use Western-provided weapons to strike military targets in Russia amid Russian efforts to persuade the West to continue its self-imposed limitations and divide the NATO alliance.
Russia's defense industrial base (DIB) will reportedly manufacture and refurbish three times as many artillery shells as the West will produce in 2024, although Russian shells reportedly suffer from quality-control issues and Ukrainian artillery is reportedly more precise than Russian artillery.
Kremlin officials continue to indicate that Russia is not interested in meaningful negotiations with Ukraine and promote Kremlin information operations that aim to push the West to make concessions on Ukraine's sovereign territory and people.
Russian forces recently made confirmed advances near Svatove, Avdiivka, and Donetsk City.
Former Wagner Group fighters reportedly continue to form new units under Rosgvardia and Chechen Akhmat Spetsnaz.
