I think that the plan right now is for Ukraine to fully join the EU in 2030 or something like that. Joining the EU is a long process.
Supporters of Ukraine should be happy to see progress on that front, but it's not going to make any immediate difference in the course of the war.
I am not saying it is a bad thing. I guess someone could get excited about Ukraine joining the EU in 2030 would change things if there is a ceasefire. Because surely if there is a ceasefire and/or peace deal Russia would be insane to attack an EU member state. Russia is still insisting that Ukraine agree to give up the annexed territory (even the territory Russia does not occupy), agree to disarm, and let Russia oversee its elections next year. Ukraine has said no to those terms, and the vast majority of Ukrainians support continuing the war until they run out of weapons or soldiers. However, I do not see a ceasefire or peace deal happening before 2025 at the earliest.

Just like Bakhmut, Avdiivka is an all out offensive to make a positive headline for Russia, losses and strategic importance be damned. Honestly Avdiivka is probably happening so Putin has some good news for the SMO going into the election
Bingo. Russia launched its offensive on Avdiivka not long after support for Putin dropped to its lowest level ever. It really does not matter what his support level is because the Russian elections will be rigged but having a "victory" beforehand makes it a lot easier to sell the results of the rigged election.
Look at all that mud

On November 28, 2023, ????Russian Major General Vladimir Vasilievich Zavadsky died.
It is specified that Major General Vladimir Vasilyevich Zavadsky was blown up by a mine on November 28, 2023 at 2:30 p.m.
Add another one to the list. That makes 21 Russian generals or admirals that have died in this 3 day SMO.

Russia meddled in Ukrainian elections way more than the west. They bribed and blackmailed politicians/local leaders left and right. Russia is a big part of the reason Ukraine is considered corrupt. Money greases the wheels of the Ukrainian system

But you're right of course. At other points, Russia did it too.

The U.S. has bought 75,000 artillery shells from Greece for $47 million to send to Ukraine.
50,000 105 mm
20,000 155 mm
5,000 203 mm
Crazy that Greece still has 203 mm shells from the U.S. M110 self propelled howitzer. They have been retired for a while now. Luckily those shells can be used on Ukraine’s Soviet 2S7 Pion guns which I believe had ran out of ammunition almost entirely. With conditions as bad as they are with the mud, those lighter 105 mm guns have got to be easier to move around than even the M777s.

Guaranteed to be true.

The Ukrainian people overthrew their president not the USA. If the USA had tried to do it then it would have lead to a collapse of the government, basic civil functions, and decade long civil war(s) like what we have seen in Syria and Libya and it probably would not have worked.

There is a difference between election shenanigans and outright rigging the election. The Russians will not even bother to count the votes they will just make up a number and say that Putin and his United Russia party won with X% of the vote. They will allow some pre vetted opposition candidates to win seats in the Duma but not enough to mount any real opposition and they will know what bills they must vote yes on.

Key Takeaways:
Russian President Vladimir Putin reiterated a two-part conception of Russian identity in a speech on November 28: a “Russian nation” – claimed to include Russians, Ukrainians, and Belarusians – at the center of Russian identity; and a wider ‘Russian world” including other non-East Slavic ethnicities in both modern Russia and the former territory of the Soviet Union and Russian Empire.
Putin’s articulation of a Russian nation (including Ukrainians and dominated by Moscow) reiterates longstanding Kremlin justifications for its invasion of Ukraine and aggression toward its neighbors, and Putin’s claim that “western Russophobia” affects all the ethnicities in the Russian state is likely intended to rally support among Russian citizens who are not ethnically Russian for Putin’s war.
Head of the Kremlin-controlled Russian Orthodox Church Patriarch Kirill of Moscow stated that Russia needs to “significantly adjust” its migration policies for the “preservation of Russian culture,” highlighting the perceived superiority of ethnic Russians to other regional ethnicities.
Patriarch Kirill’s anti-migrant and xenophobic rhetoric is more closely aligned with Russian government policies towards migrants and non-Russian ethnicities in Russia than Putin’s claimed inclusivity under the ”Russian world.”
Russian officials appear to be attempting to further disenfranchise migrants living in Russia, likely to support ongoing efforts to coerce migrants into military service while also appeasing increasingly xenophobic Russian ultranationalists.
The Kremlin continues to focus heavily on setting informational conditions for the upcoming 2024 Russian presidential elections and will likely formally commence Putin’s “campaign” on December 14.
Ukrainian Main Military Intelligence Directorate (GUR) Spokesperson Andriy Yusov stated on November 28 that unspecified actors poisoned GUR Head Kyrylo Budanov’s wife Marianna Budanova.
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law significantly increasing Russian federal expenditures in 2024, reportedly including a record level of defense spending.
A prominent Russian milblogger continued to highlight mid-level command problems among Russian forces operating on the east (left) bank of Kherson Oblast, amid continued complaints about weak Russian capabilities and the vulnerability of Russian ground lines of communications (GLOCs) on the east bank.
A Russian insider source claimed on November 28 that Russian authorities detained at least three additional Moscow-based Federal Security Service (FSB) employees in connection with a 5-billion-ruble ($55.6 million) bribery case.
Iranian Deputy Defense Minister Brigadier General Mehdi Farhi announced on November 28 that Russia and Iran finalized the purchase of Russian aircraft.
Russian forces continued offensive operations along the Kupyansk-Svatove-Kreminna line, near Bakhmut, near Avdiivka, west and southwest of Donetsk City, in the Donetsk-Zaporizhia Oblast border area, and in western Zaporizhia Oblast and advanced near Kupyansk and Avdiivka.
Chechen Republic Head Ramzan Kadyrov announced on November 27 that Chechnya formed two new regiments and one battalion subordinated under the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) and an operational battalion subordinated under Rosgvardia.
Occupation administrations in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts signed an agreement to develop closer economic ties with Rostov and Voronezh oblasts on November 28.

Who was subsequently overthrown (impeached in a way) by Ukraine’s Parliament. By over a 2/3s vote.
I call that Democratic.

The fact that this very accurate statement was downvoted at nearly a 3:1 ratio is frightening. The Ukraine Bros are really warped and / or blind.

Russia isn’t America. They’re not going to attack Avdiivka to create a story.
Avdiivka is heavily fortified, but the city is physically vulnerable with the Russians positioned along the neck of the Ukrainian supply line, and the Russians will have to take the city eventually, so why not now. And the Russians want to stop the shelling of civilians in Donetsk.

Literally an FSB false flag talking point for 10 years now. Ten. Years.
Like you honestly believe that the Ukrainse army rolled out artillery one day and began shelling its own innocent civilians amd have been doing so for a decade. For target practice.
Nobody believes this bullshite. And, nobody believes that you believe it.
It just shows that you're either a total idiot. Or a Russian troll farm bot. There's no middle ground on this point.
