The number of open construction jobs is almost at a 20-year high.

"We are short more than 200,000 construction workers in the U.S., and getting younger workers is going to be a real challenge," Dietz said.

is this skilled work or just any kind of construction? Construction is quite the broad category.

I definitely have good job security in the industry. But I would've picked something else if I were 18 again. The hours can be a bitch depending on which side of things your on. The money is good if you're not a laborer. But in the office, it's all tedious paperwork.

Greatly varies depending on location.
Wages are unreal in Ak. It's not uncommon for a guy to work 6-7 months a year and make over 100k, but that includes a lot of overtime.

It should be revised to say that there is a shortage of qualified construction workers. There are plenty of bodies but a large majority of them are just a bunch of slap dicks looking for a paycheck and aren't worth a damn.

Jobs in the industry field and construction field are much needed but yet too many college graduates complain about having to pay back their college debt and have a very low paying job. Their solution is to make everyone else pay for their college tuition because of their choice to get a useless degree at a university that costs too much to begin with
