These guys are killing it on my projects (mostly schools).

Every damn school in Texas is being either built or upgraded with access controller exterior doors and a big security foyer at the front. All they do is pull the wire, terminate to the systems, then do some rudimentary programming.

Hell the project im on now isn't even doing their own rough-in. It's easy money.

We do prewires for large commercial AV companies for phone/data, access control, security cabling, cameras, you name it. Anything low voltage. We help them win contracts because they can’t match my rates pulling cables and it’s a win/win for both of us. My guys are way more efficient at pulling cables and they don’t have to bid the cabling part of the job at their technician/programmer rates.

Because if so, sounds like a better alternative would be to have secure borders and vet people to be eligible for work visas.

But even that I'm not a great supporter of. Is it fair to construction workers who are residents of this country and have decided to make a career out of construction to have to compete with foreign labor? How would the white collar crowd feel if we let an unlimited amount of Indians in to do those jobs for 25% pay?
