A good spot nobody has mentioned is the backyard bar area at BRQ. It’s got kids games, live music, and a big spacious area for the kids to run around.

None, LSU Casuals will be there throwing chairs and cussing up a storm despite kids being there.

What’s the latest with Istrouma? I originally heard they didn’t have their food license, then heard they were doing a renovation.

Vars is the best I know of because of the playground.

Plucker's is our family friendly sports bar for table gating before games. there's one on Bluebonnet also.

I am beginning to think they have some red tape issues and are disguising it as a renovation. They were supposed to open back up in September, but have gone radio silent on all of their social platforms

I forgot to mention it is a damn shame that Mid City Beer Garden isn't kid friendly during the day

Yeah, they are fine with kids and they have a kids menu and they are fine with the kids running around.

I need a little more information. You say happy hour cocktails and football. Like - are you talking about Friday afternoons? Nobody is really going to do happy hour on a full football Saturday.
Or do you mean Saints games on Sunday? Or like... the afternoon NFL games?
You can always go to WalkOns for a family football atmosphere but that's about all I'd guess. The Chimes is good if you go early enough.

Something something ice house apparently is the new trend and way better than anything baton rouge has to offer

Seriously. Someone in BR needs to make a bar and name it this. Give Chicken some of the ownership too.

City Cafe, WalkOns, Pastime, too many to list.

stinks is extreme, won't set the world on fire but its fine for what it is. Also the kids meals are a really good deal.
