I was wondering the same thing. How could this have been done accident?
As for the term “Reich”, that much like the swastika, is something the Nazis did not create but rather adopted. Germans have described their land as “Reich” for centuries. The term isn’t used as commonly as it once was due to people associating it with the Nazis today. But as for the term “progrom”, there is only one meaning for it and it almost always exclusively means persecution of Jews.

A pogrom can occur against any ethnic or religious group, not just Jews.
