They have the maps already published. Everything southeast of the city proper in EBR Irish would now become an official city, throwing off the yoke of governance by BR proper

Two intelligent people can disagree on this vote. But it's hard for me to understand how you can tap dance around the will of 15,000 people who petitioned for a vote and slough them off with some BS.

It's bizarre to a Texan I guess. Picture Dallas County letting go of Richardson as a city, but still having them as a taxable base within the County.

Thing is, Richardson is an ISD as well. Seperated from DISD. Taxes collected for schools go to whichever ISD you reside in.

It's my opinion LA should do the same. Collect taxes to specific Parish "ISD's" and cut out privatization.

They tried to get an ISD but it was blocked at the state level with the group told “form a city first”.

That was said in the belief that a city would never come to pass. Oops. They didn’t take JBE and Sharon Westin Broome into account.

Here is what I don't understand about the delay, what information needs to be redacted that is so sensitive the governors office is not privy to it? Surely it can't be anything to do with the signatures collected or any identifying information regarding verification, the registrars office handed those over to Together Baton Rouge pretty quickly stating that it was public record. So what exactly is being redacted and why is it taking so long?

Also, if it turns out that the redacted information does pertain to the signatures, could the person who signed beneath the school board member have grounds for a suit against The Advocate? After all, they posted their signature and information all over the internet for everyone to see, but know it is too private for the governors eyes? Something isnt adding up.
