Comrade Honor Code killing St George and suspending Will Wade. He’s been working hard this week.

This is the counter argument to everyone who ignorantly says the SG proposed area is gerrymandering.

You have to wonder why he would take a risk like this getting in someone else's fight.

You're absolutely wrong about that.

It's true. It doesn't dilute anyone's vote because it changes nothing.

I'm sure we will be getting news any minute now that Edwards will be calling on the metro council to fire and replace the registrar of voters for failure to fulfill his duties in a timely manner. That would be the honorable thing to do, it's obviously incompetence with this kind of a delay. Could never be any other ulterior motives at play...
If I were the AG Landry (because he seems to have a grudge against the governor and seems willing to fight for the citizens of Louisiana) or the St. George leadership I think I'd draw as much attention to the delay as I could. Either Landry or Edwards is mistaken, he either has what he needs or he doesn't. If he does, then he just delayed the will of a large group of voters by at least 5 months.
If he doesn't, then the registrars office has some explaining to do. Either they are unaware of their duties or flat out incompetent, neither should be a valid excuse. If there is information that needs to be redacted because it is too sensitive for the governors office, then that information should not be available for purchase by anyone. It has been published that the names on the petition have been sold at least twice. If I were Murrell I'd have some questions for the council at the next meeting.

You have no clue. The St. George issue goes beyond party lines. While the majority of those who signed are conservatives, I have personally witnessed the signatures of a bunch of moderate republicans, democrats, and independents, as well as liberal democrats. Everyone has their own reason for signing, and denying or delaying their right to a vote will cost him votes in the gubernatorial election.
