Can't wait to drive through, pee all over the gas station bathroom, and spend nothing.

I’ll be honest

I have great pity on anyone who lives in the Baton Rouge or st George area. That area has no redeeming qualities. All the problems of big city life — crime, traffic, decay. None of the benefits of city life.

Baton Rouge is essentially Mobile AL, but with a longer drive to the beaches.

St George proponents boasting of their win over Baton Rouge is like a prisoner bragging to his across the hall neighbor that his cell is better.

Considering you could drop Baghdad in the middle of Louisiana and it would immediately be the best city in the state, that isn't saying much.

Yep. If St. George is able to form their own school district, and that's a big if, they will have to pay EBR Schools for those schools.

Zachary, Central and Baker all had to do the same thing

Look at the number of schools within St George limits and it ain’t that many.

There is a new primary school going up off Bluebonnet, there is Woodlawn, and there are probably some random schools depending on boundaries such as Westminster Elementary off Jefferson by Drusilla.

This would be part of why St George has claimed it has gotten shortchanged by EBRPSS, as most population growth in the parish over the past 40 years has been there yet most schools in the parish are in areas that have been dying off for decades.

And yet most of the schools located in St. George are not close to capacity. Why should the school district spend money to build more schools if the people in that area can't fill the ones they have.

You truly cannot be this stupid. EBR parish got that money from the people who live in the parish including St. George. Why would the people who paid the taxes that built the school pay it back.

This foolish notion that leftist have that government makes money is mind boggling. The vast majority of the money the parish receives came from the area that is now St. George. They were able to build that school because of the money they received from the residents that live in St. George. Do you think the garden district or mid city paid all the taxes and St. George residents have been living tax free. You really need to wake up and work at not being a fool.

EBR Parish did6build those schools, EBR Schools did and the residents of St George didn't pay for the whole thing.

The money used to build new schools and make renovations comes from the $0.01 sales tax. Also you forgot about Exxon and similar industries that give more to EBR Schools than the residents of St. George could ever dream about
