This is an objective fact

Kip May very well be a much better politician for BR but go back and look at the blanket statements made about north Baton Rouge, Democrats,

Have you been to NBR? I’m there every day. And as a whole it is a shithole, full of blight and decay and degeneracy. Are there hard working black folks there? Certainly. I don’t paint them all with the same brush and respect the hell out of working folks of any stripe, but I can’t stand freeloaders, black, white or brown.

The democrats of the broome and Edwards Ilk have irrefutably harmed Baton Rouge and Louisiana commerce and business, they are inept, corrupt and need to be run out just like Alleva was

Has no one attempted to put more high end residential there? Seems like the gays alone would provide the demand.

Downtown? That's exactly the problem. All of the buildings they keep putting up are charging rents that nobody other than a single 30+ making good money can afford.

Oddly, almost all of the gay people I know live in these places.

According to a friend that works in BR development, someone bought Magpie's lease as well as the lease to the space on top of the commerce building. He doesn't know who yet.

the top of the commerce building has potential to be one of the coolest spots in the city if something opens up there

3rd street is infested. We could have a nice downtown area, but it’s just crawling

$1k for a 555 square foot studio; $2k for a 1200 square foot 2BR? Yikes.

It’s hard to run a cafe in a food desert. That’s also why grocery stores struggle there.

When I was in my 20s living downtown probably would have appealed to me but I couldn't afford it. Now I'm married with a kid and could afford it but it has no appeal.

We had a great mayor for the 12 years prior. It seems like the business class just got bamboozled by the current mayor, who is still in her first term. The other candidates were all really shitty to boot.

They should move the zoo down there to attract more people to downtown BR

The downtown bars attracted LP and ghetto trash. LSU kids and white collar young folk don’t want to associate with that crowd.
