Is downtown BR going back to a ghost town?

I just saw that Magpie Cafe is closing their doors Friday. I was down there last weekend, saw Lucy’s was closed, and some other store fronts closed up.
Is it going back to the downtown BR of the 80’s?

I've heard them starting to enforce the open container laws on 3rd street kind of killed the momentum that area had.
I don't spend a whole lot of time in bars at this point so I'm not sure if that's the case.

In short, yes. Was down there last weekend and it was a ghost town with the exception of The Watermark which was having a high school reunion. Sad.
Good thing we built a multi gazillion dollar public library though.

Downtown is always dead during the summer. It’s a college town. I thought they’ve been doing well with live@5 and other music events down there. Need to close shittybar
